2008 meeting minutes are up...

Some very interesting stuff in there. Particularly #14 should cause some chaos to be unleashed. I wonder if it is across the board, e.g. Racer X wins stock off-road nats, and then goes to on-road. I assume it would be across the board by the wording.

Edit, the changes under the heading, RMT Guidelines: Revisions for 2008

And hand-outs are pretty much done, which I like...

Linky

Mike Slaughter I'm gonna go run for cover now....

definitely needed - too vague right now and could cause an upROAR....:sneaky:

Dawn Sanchez 01-16-2008 10:16 AM

actual wording is being clarified right now..

You win stock.. you shouldn't do it again.. LOL

masterhit 01-16-2008 10:38 AM

I should also note some of the other positive things, more money for the host track (and that in no way implies that ROAR does not deserve its share, its' just a struggle for tracks these days and that helps).

Online registration in the next week for memberships! Excellent, count on seeing a membership from me. Now if you/I just had my number from 15 some odd years ago.... :ha:

And I shouldn't forget the entry costs now that hand outs are not involved.

I plan on attending my first ROAR nats/event (onroad asphalt) in a very, very long time.

Lots of positive stuff! Excellent work.

Bye Bye Masters.....

15. Masters and Juniors classes have been excluded from the RMT Guidelines in 2008 for all classes excluding On Road Fuel events. Should a host wish to offer one or both of these classes, a deviation request must be submitted to the Excom.

Sure hope the Nats put in a deviation request! I have raced for over 20 years on and off, and I finally turn 40 and Masters is now excluded.

TimPotter 01-16-2008 11:11 AM

Timmy, don't worry about Masters, there will be one.... for you old guys... :> At least for the Asphalt....

so "stock" is 17.5 or 27t.

"super stock" (formerly 19t) is 13.5, 10.5, or 19t?

Super Stock is 19T and 10.5 for 2008 and 2009 will be 13.5 only.

When is ROAR going to get an Official forum so the membership can have a place to voive their opinion and the ROAR leadership can official respond as well....

so for '09 and beyond:

stock is 17.5 or 27t
super stock is 13.5 or 19t
and a 10.5 would only be legit for mod

don't those rules somewhat favor the older brushed motors?

1. Will RMT #14 be retro-active for the previous 1-5 years, or will it be from 2008 forward?

2. I see 13.5 only for Superstock for 2009+. What is the Stock rule for 2009+?

Yep. If I was running stock, I'd use a good 27t because it is faster than a 17.5. If I was running super stock, I'd use a good 19T because it is faster than a 13.5. It looks like the motor tuners will be in business for a couple more years....

5. Entry fees will change to $80.00 per class for every style of racing at each
national in 2008. This fee could be slightly different for those who opt to do
online registration.

Am I reading it correctly that entry fee's will be $80.00 even without handout motors and or tires?

I suspect that by 2009, we'll be seeing faster 17.5 and 13.5 brushless motors. Now that they aren't "holding them back" and constantly changing what's "comparable" to try and make things fair against brushed motors, I have a feeling that the hardcore tweaking will begin.
