Default Want to confirm a few things

Approved Bodies-
1/10 TOURING CAR T2 PROTOFORM 1476-00 6-30-2008
1/10 TOURING CAR T2 PROTOFORM 1476-01 2-28-2008

I have a body that has PF1476 imprinted on the windshield and across the top "All Purpose", my sales receipt lists a 1476-01 but nowhere on the body is there a -00, -01 or any other designation. I know sometimes merchants will sell different Rev's of the same product and not perfectly match them with their current part numbers.

Will this body pass tech inspection or not?

Hope this helps I just went thru same issue...Posted below,From ROAR

John .... to answer your question. After a quick check on the Pro-Line/Protoform website I was able to only find the 1476-01 body http://www.pro-lineracing.com/protoform/index.html. How do you tell these apart? The 1476-00 is the carpet version and the 1476-01 is the standard version. Both will have the 1476 part number molded into the upper left corner of the front windshield. The carpet version 1476-01 will have "CARPET" molded into the upper middle of the windshield. Neither version has passed the GBS (global body spec) and Protoform will need to resubmitt with corrections for this body to be reviewed for approval for sanctioned racing past their current experation dates.

So basically you can run the all perpose body for rubber class,But the Carpet body is no good to race.

It is not included in the approvals extension deviation on the ROAR website so it apperas that it would not be legal. I will verify if it should or should not have been included in the approvals exension for use at the Carpet Nats.

Default How rough or smooth is your asphalt?

Well thts clear as mud, hehe.

the 1476-01 says it expires 2/28/08 if indeed this is the all purpose then unless the 2/28/08 was a mistake a supposed to be 3/31/08; then it technically is not legal for this race. Why do things need to be so complicated,[sigh] same part number stamped on two diffferent bodies.

So if it ain't listed by then, it won't be legal including the use of 10.5 in Superstock and any manufacture other than Novak 13.5 or 17.5...CORRECT ?

We need to be able to make definitive plans and not be surprised by some last minute deviation allowing something half the racers don't have.
The cutoff date for the 14 day product rule for national usage 12.4.1 & 12.4.3 would be 2/31

I wish I had an answer for you. I was quite confused as well when John asked his original question last week on this same body. I had to call our testing lab to verify how to tell the difference. Part numbers are not ROAR's control. I too wish it were simpler.

Well, the race is really coming together now.

Our brand new carpet was shipped today and will be installed on Mon-Wed next week.

Tech is coming together. We just have the countertop to finish.

And we added way more pit space than we ever thought we would have needed.

Thanks to all the sponsors for the race including our Title sponsor Spektrum, and Associate sponsor CRC. Without either of these two companies the new carpet would not have been possible.

Our event sponsors are really important as well. Team Associated, Corally, X-ray, Schumacher, Top racing, Molzer Mowery, Darkside Motorsprts, Team Orion, Novak, and Trinity.

Two more weeks till race time. Its all coming together.

The Protoform 1476-01 Dodge Stratus 3.0 should have been included in the approval extension deviation listed on the ROAR website 2/5/08. The website will be revised to have this bodies part number included in the extension and will be legal for use at the Carpet Nationals. Hope this is as clear as water for ya

See you guys in just over two weeks

Shawn and Adam from Schumacher told me today and late last week that the Speed Passion Modified and 10.5 BL's will be legal for this race so I am assuming that they will be on the ROAR list by tomorrow. It is the SP 13.5 and 17.5 that they will not be submitting. Dawn/Schurcr is this the information that you have as well?

Do we have to run the blue tempature "thermal" wire on the GTB speed controller? The rules just say that it must use the 6 pin connector, it doesn't say all the pins have to do anything.

And the LRP speedo doesn't really thermal compared to a GTB.
