What ride height do you run the car at?

Something that can affect how the car comes out of corners is the steering links getting cought on the chassis when the ride height is to high, make sure the ride height is fairly low and the steering links are level to the ground.

its about 5mm and 5.5 in the rear on my ride height gauge mesured at the end of the chassis not the lowest point. It maybe just me I jumped from 540 straight into mini yesterday and im used to it just driving out of the corner. I just noticed that both my c-hubs have cracked 3/4s thru bout to change em and give it a run 2morrow nite.

hi guys,

i guess many of you are running on lipo now right,

was wondering is there any different with cheap hard case lipo(yeah Racing,Team C) Vs those branded (orion 3800 race pack, Trackpower)

i know that team c and yeah racing its direct fit to minis, what about team orion 3800?

i know Team orion 3200 and 3400 are direct fit.

please share your lipo experience.

Orion 3800 and Trackpower dont fit....So there's no point comparing.

The only ones that fit are Yeah/Team C/Orion 3200/3400 and Harris 3200/3700.

But...most tracks will only allow ROAR approved packs (and rightly so) So we run the Harris 3200's which we've found to be perfect. I don't even bother looking at anything else.

The TA03 ball diff is unusual compared to other ball diffs you may have worked on. The center screw is *not* used for adjustment. You must bottom the screw out, and use a little blue threadlock, to keep the diff together.

You adjust the diff by changing the diff lube. For a front-drive Mini, the Tamiya AW grease works well on many tracks. That's a fairly sticky grease so it slows down the diff action. On a front-drive car you do not want the diff action to be very free on most tracks.

I use a tiny bit of blue threadlock to keep the outdrives from floating around. If you use too much it can be hard to get the outdrives out when you need to, so go easy.

Putting in the ball diff should make your car easier to drive and more consistent, so keep checking/fixing until the car starts behaving.

The Orion 3400's are ROAR legal, I wasn't intimating that they weren't. Only that people need to consider that situation before buying packs.

Looks like a new shock *body*, not a new shock. Which Tamiya shocks is this an upgrade for? E.g. my M03L has Tamiya 49198 TRF shocks; would these bodies replace the blue ones I've got?

The CORE 3250 lipo fits the M-chassis. Perhaps the CORE pack is really the same as a Yeah or Team C or Harris? I've never seen those.

I've been toying with both lately. The best setup I've found is using the AW grease.

I believe the gear diff is a bit smoother than the ball diff, but the ball diff seems a little quicker out of the corners. It's a tradeoff, I suppose. They end up getting you there at about the same time.

I just got my M03 built. I just finished cutting out the body for a test fit. I mounted it and I was wondering if there is a way to mount the front any lower. It hits the plastic piece int he front. I want the body to sit nice and low. Any advice?

Theres not much you can do except to actually lower the car. Thankfully the M03 responds better with a lower front ride height.

I had to fix a couple of things and the motor in my mini was basically dead so not point kicking a dead donkey to try and keep it going
