Hi,
need help with a set up on my m05 when racing on asphalt. problem is when the car is half into a turn or coming out of a turn, the rear end would loose control and drift out.
my current set up is:
medium wheelbase
s grips all around
currently using kit dampers but will upgrade later on to TRF dampers
applied gripper "juice" on all tires
any tips?

I run red springs in front and blue at the back (TRF short dampers, 3-hole pistons). Ride height is roughly 3mm in front and the back a bit higher (around 4mm probably).

do you sauce the full tire? try saucing on the inner 3 or 2 lines up front.

Mini brushless motor choice
Ok Tamiya has changed the rules on the Mini class.
The motor must be 21.5 brushless now.
I installed 21.5 Thunderpower motor and a Hobbywing pro ESC (vers. 2.1).
I am running max timing on the motor and 508 blinky software.
My car is now much slower than other mini's.
I am being past my a Novak ballastic 21.5 mini.
Anybody have any ideas as to how to get my mini more competitive?
Maybe Granpa with help with a better motor suggestion?
I have tried different rotors in the motor, but It made only a slight difference.
Basically I am being passed on the straightaway, but not in the infield.
I think my suspension is about as good as it gets, although Granpa may disagree with that.

Dont forget to ensure you have a well performing pack. Whoever is faster than you, swap packs and see if it is infact the motor.

I have advocated for the TP motor in the past, and have to amend that. Dont buy one for a Mini. You can't get enough timing in it. I was wrong.
Same for the reedy. It only goes to 50.
The Trinity family of Killshot motors is okay, you can advance the end bell so far on that one it will fire the next pole early and wreck the motor if you aren't careful. That said, If you are selecting a motor for the Mini class, the most important feature is having one with infinitely adjustable timing because we cannot gear up past a 20t pinion.

Personally, I have the most time on a Killshot, but am loath to say that it's better than a Thunder Power. The Speed Passion has been pretty quick, but one went up in smoke the other day. I believe that one had 50degrees of timing---40 sensor plate and 10 on the end bell. Mine was run at 40 to 45 degrees. R1 has a 21.5 and has been quick also.
You're ahead of the game if your set up is on. Mine turned to garbage when we installed the B/L motors. Easy to drive, but too slow. These motors don't fit the way I drive, so trying to adapt driving with set up changes has been a nightmare.

Bought a used M05 Pro for my little guy to carpet race and looking to split the chassis to access the diff....is there something on-line I can view to see how this is done or is it fairly straight-forward? This RC is kinda new to me as you can see.

With all of the 21.5 choices I was confused & didnt know where to go.
I did all of this last year in my M06R, and i just bought the motor with the Highest KV rating.
At the time is was the revtech 21.5 @2500KV.
Soldered it up to a LRP stock spec v2, maxed the endbell timing, and
Used a 2s revtech 65c battery 8.42v at full charge
ITS a missle. I dropped the 20t pinion for the 18T(our track is smaller)
Hope this helps those looking.
Also the d3.5 & killshot 21.5 I believe have more Kv that the revtech.

wish tamiya would come out with a version of this car for the mini...
HPI did a "New Beetle" mini shell back in the day. A bit rounder than the current "New Beetle" but close enough for RC purposes (if you could find one...)
