I want to say the ride minimum ride height is 5mm. At least that's what I remember from my last TCS event. 1300g minimum weight.

I can't recall ever having my minis ride height teched on carpet or asphalt at a TCS event. Most here run them close to 3mm in the front.

Did some advance searching through the tamiyausa.com/tcs site. I could find no mention of ride height, save for a few items under class descriptions, none of which were minis. They really should just have a complete, downloadable pdf file, linked at the top of the page.

In other words, slam it into the weeds.

If the track has a ride height rule (to keep from snagging the carpet), use it. Otherwise.....

Several of the tracks that we ran at during the TCS event did check our ride height, but it was to avoid any snagging on the carpets, not at the outside tracks at all, so its probably going to be enforced as to the local race directors decision

Makes sense to have a ride height rule for carpet tracks. I never have seen a ride height rule posted on Tamiyausa either. Most likely just a rule to protect the carpet tracks and nothing more.

Does anyone know if the Gear Diffs for the M03 & the M05 are the same part?

I don't know if they're the same part number, but they are interchangeable.

The outdrives are slightly different in the way they input into the actual diff, but they are interchangeable between either chassis. I actually prefer the M03 version over the 05 as long as you get the hardened outdrives.

I kind of made a booboo
Previously I had changed our main drivers gear diff to a ball diff (Thats an 05)
and recently I changed my gear diff ( thats an 03) to a ball diff, but I had some troubles with it and want to change back to the gear diff until I can figure out whats wrong
and never marked which one is which (BooBoo) They do look alike, but wasn't sure if physically they were.

If you're talking about the stock gear diffs, there are two versions. The original M03 gear diff and the one that came with some (early) M05 used a splined output. The later/current version uses a rectangular output.

Either version will fit either car. The only difference is the outdrives and the two outer gears they connect to inside the diff.

Hi all,

I'd like to explain how my swb M03 is (or isn't) handling at the moment and get some suggestions. I've set this new car up the same as a friends car as his handles a treat.

I run blue front springs, 600cst oil, yellow (and I've tried red) rear springs with 350cst oil, zero front toe, EPA set at 80% both sides as I found the inside tyre was touching the shock at lean angle, M grip 60d tyres, rear hard roll bar, 56mm shocks, and a kit built untweaked diff, around 5mm ground clearance.

What it does is have a very loose rear end which doesn't improve as the race goes on. I've tried additive on the rear tyres with no improvement. When I stick Sweep 25 slicks on the back the car is perfect.

I'm on carpet, one track is medium grip the other is high grip yet the car does the same.

The only difference between mine and my mates cars is that his has a tighter diff.

Any ideas?

I'm not an expert, still new to the on-road but it sounds like the same problem my little guy was having with his M05 last weekend.

What is your rear camber setting?
