A bunch of guys in the Painting section will be able to help as well. 'cSeils" I think his tag is, advertises mainly on the US VTA thread as well.

Don't you hate when your mini starts getting all invisible?
This is just a couple layers messed with in photoshop.

Yup. Just a humble little M03. Old TRF shocks, old M03 front uprights, 3Racing axles, Orca brushless system, Spektrum rx and a good servo. Thinking about adding a rear sway bar.
Perhaps I can help?

I notice a lot of racers use hard inserts up front and soft at the rear, what's the reasoning behind this?
How does the insert affect lateral and longitudinal grip levels?
I've tried m-grips all round on carpet with just soft inserts and was pretty impressed with the grip they provided.

^ great that is what I thought also. The inserts work like air almost.

I'm having some front end traction issues but the car is perfectly balanced through the bends. Current setup for ozite carpet is:
Front
Kit 60d radials soft insert
Blue springs
#700 oil 3 hole
Shocks in outermost hole
Ta-03 diff, very tight with AWG.
5mm ride height
Rear
m-grip soft insert
Red springs
#400 oil 3 hole
6mm ride height
When I tried the m-grips, soft inserts, on all four corners, I could brake far later and the car accelerated a lot quicker but the balance wasn't quite there in the bends. Too much steering, a little loose at the back on corner entry. My fastest lap was no quicker but my average lap time was over a second faster.
Will the m-grips with hard inserts sort this?

Lower rear ride height and try before changing the insert on the front.
