If you're thinking about using different body posts to lower the shell, try a set of M03/05 front posts on the rear of your car. The holes will be very slightly forward of where they'd normally be.

That's the plan. It should lower the rear to where I want it. Way to high with the stock M05 rear body mounts.

A change of rear posts also made for neat fit on this TT cladded M03, blooded this past weekend. Of interest was the too steep (my fault) rear wing which got the car all unstable on the long straights and was removed - would never have believed there would be any impact. The posts were in a pile of bits and meant new location holes - I do like the idea of the front posts on the back, though.

The 53597 universals are a better option. The axle part of the uni has 4 holes in it so when 2 of them wear out you can disassemble the uni and use the 2nd set of holes. You can buy a rebuild kit for them as well in case your pins wear out first - part no. 53500

Using the stock 225mm, M05M, parts, the front body mounts on the rear will be more forward.

Thinking about modifying the M05L shock/body mount support as pictured below, marked in yellow. It should keep the body mounts about the same location from front to rear but will still be wider, but I like wider if it will still fit....

Nice looking body. Did I notice the rear tires hanging outside the body? If so were there any issues? Is this body designed for the MO3 or the MO5? If for the MO5 what other mods did you have to do? Thanks Rodney

It will fit either M03 or M05, although it has a lower stance on the M05. The RC Mini lads used it on the M06. Ja, the rear of the body tends to "paint/cut curl" in after cutting/painting and the 2 degree tow in blocks exacerbate the appearance. Not had any dramas and I guess one could tweak it back with shoe goop or suchlike.

The standard rear posts will work with a bit of massaging as per my 2010 yellow raced version pic below - unfortunately not a good pic as the car was jacked up on the shocks but still on original posts and clear that body slightly raked nose down .

The new rear posts I found (perhaps TT01?) angled off much lower and did require a different hole position but that was easy - I also liked the lower rear ala the M06 RC Mini version. I would probably better go with the M05 front posts on the rear for the next shell, which would probably also provide better support.

Default Speed Controls

Just wondering what everyone is using for a speed control in their M03's. I had a LRP Quantum up until Saturday. Now I have to buy a new speedo but am having a hard time figuring out what is available these days. Something that is not brushless and one that will fit in the rear of the M03. Hopefully the same size of the LRP.

Anyone know where I can score a cheap Quantum?

Any suggestions?

you also got the tekin Fx/FxPro speedo - which are brushed only and around the same size, if not smaller, then the LRP's

hi all,

I just got myself a M05 pro... i have never run a mini before.. I want to ask if 13.5t brushless motor is too fast? or 17.5t brushless is sufficient for a decent speed (not too fast)??

by the way, i'm using Tekin RS esc

+1 on the FX Pro, Carl. I use one in my GT silver can sedan, and you've seen that puppy run. I use an older Tekin G12CIII in my M05- same one I used for years in my M03- just take off the case and run it naked on a piece of dense foam. Works great, fits fine with a small receiver.

Has anyone tried widening the front wheelbase as a setup tool? I have some 1mm hex spacers I can put in the front end.
