Whilst I secreted the Xevo name into my last post, I have picked one up 2nd hand & whilst I understand that the manual is of little use, does anyone have a copy that I could see (as it didn't come with one, as you may have gathered from the request) as the front lay down shock set-up looks quite tricky...

Also, I have bought the 3Racing gear set & I have also heard that they make quite a racket & can wear out quickly if used with Tamiya pinions... If that's true are there any quick/ reliable fixes?

Default Motor Balance weight

I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be legal; it's just a weight after all, and you aren't drilling any new holes or modifying the chassis in any way.

A few points: the weight is designed for an M05 with a Hobbywing Brushless motor only. It can be adopted for silver or black cans, and if the orders come in, I see no reason not to be able to cater for those setups as well.

Just wanted to post here to express my thanks to rcnutbag for coming up with this idea. I got a counterweight from him and it made such a difference to the handling of my car it was amazing - stopped griproll in sweeping right handers, hooking in slow right handers, carries much more cornerspeed in corners and allows better braking due to the extra weight over the front axels and has improved my mini no end. Get it patented quick!

And the price? Around about $300 USD and you still need some M05 bits to finish it off.....

It does do 210mm and 225mm WB but no 240mm.

And you cant readily dismiss anything from Tech Racing. Pretty much every Touring Car on the market now is descended from the 415, which itself was originally a Tech Racing product called the MY02...

Quick question about racing the mini Cooper m05. I race in a local beach series using TCS rules. The motor is a spec 540 J motor. My question is will the Tekin B1R /18 esc in forward only be suitable to use in this application.

You should go with 1/8th truggy shocks, don't worry if they don't fit. This set up works best with no springs and elmors glue for shock oil. Also make sure you drive in reverse with only one dog bone and three wheels. This will help it will corner better.

LOL Taking competition out that way huh. hahahahahaha

These minicoopers like longer shock lengths. It seems to work good with more shocks play = damping? I don't know the terminology for it.

My mini does seem to work better with some ground clearance/travel. I remember reading about this topic when I was on here a couple of weeks ago. Check back a few pages and I'm sure you will find a propper answer if nobody chimes in.

You can, but the bodies are longer, so you have to put spacers under the piston to get the mini to a decent ride height.

And you end up with a shorter stroke travel overall because of it (minimal up travel)

It's ok short term, but I wouldn't want to do it all the time.

However, if you're on a budget and just playing around, then its quite do-able.
