I'm not sure where you are talking about? Better post a picture.
Unless you are reversing the outer hinge screw and shortening it, so you can fit a ball stud in the front. I have never tried it and wouldn't purely as where I run has to be legal, no modifications. Your choice, give it go and find whether it works for you or not.

out of curiosity, anyone tried to use the hinge point on the outer lower front arm as the damper position? If you use the longer ball end for the shock shaft, it reaches it just right. I think it'll change the lever angle and add a different feel to the front end. Or am I just wasting my time

yeah I thought it was pretty vague. Here it is.
Noticed that the damper will travel more with this angle. Will test it out later this week at the track. If it doesn't work then oh well.

I've been looking at the pictures of the built M-05's and one thing I noticed is that less of the motor can protrudes from the chassis, obviously there will be less airflow over the motor can and possibly motor temps will be higher.
So have you guys who have already run your M-05's noticed any significant increase in motor temps ?

I've never had any issues with motor temps on my car - so i can't say I've gone looking for higher temps on the 05.
Plus - its winter here is Australia at the moment - outside temps are low teens on a good day - so its hard to test really.

Your absolutely right....there is less motor exposed and the plastic wraps the motor tighter. It is also gonna be more difficult for those that want to mount a fan. Hopefully Tamiya will offer a 17.5 mini class next year. We've run an M03 for 15-20 minutes straight at race pace and the 17.5 would never get over 85 deg F.!
