How many spacers on a ball connector will be enough? The brass part seems like 4-5mm?

No one seems to use the step screws for the shocks, any reason why?

edit: I saw the video on post #157, at about 0:45, looks like a 3mm spacer under the shortened ball connector.

will i got the screw from my m05pro kit, its fits nicely....and i do believe, tamiya will lanuch hop ups for the inner motor mount piece, if not why the inner mount its a piece by it self??...also i think will see hop ups parts for steering assembly....

Idealy, you would want your tie-rod, to be flat to slightly lower on the outside at a loaded ride height, this way as the suspension compresses the steering doesn't change, or induce bump steer, so play with it on your car once you set your ride height. Right now I have 3mm and I like the slight angle I have, but I also don't have all my electronics or my battery in it yet either.

I don't run the step screws maily because of the slop, secondly the balls are easier to remove from, thirdly, they aren't blue!

Understand what u meant coz just got the kit yesterday... but I'm 2 shagged to setup it up, perhaps within the nex 2 days.... anything I should look out or just follow the stock instructions.

Is it just me, or is the back end of the M-05 a little hard to figure out the first time? The instructions are a little...vague.

Jim,

The instructions regarding the rear end are a little confusing. I studied them for a while, before I actually put it together. I also found the instructions at step 6 confusing, where you place the screws when joining the two front halves together.

I am not in a hurry to have to replace a diff either. A major disassembly will have to take place, alot more time consuming than a MO3. Even changing wheel bases will take longer.

hmm...follow original from manual, than if you are using M03 blue alloy knuckle, that adjust the steering..

How do you guys like the Hobbywing EZrun 13T systems? Comparable to a Tamiya sport tuned motor? Or faster?

i personally feel that 13t its almost the same as sport tuned, interm of speed, but its term of value for money, 13t its way much better,,,

We have been using the 13T here for nearly a year. The 13t is faster than a sports tuned once the user gets to understand the various settings and how to drive with the more torquey motor

Dan,

Here in Australia, Mini racing has boomed since the rules were changed to allow the 13T BL Hobbywing systems. People can still run sports tuned if they want, however the majority have changed over. The biggest bonus was not having to purchase numerous sport tuned motors to find three or four that were faster than normal.

This factor alone has increased numbers in mini as people can be competitive without the higher associated cost. A complete Hobbywing system retails for approx $140 aust. Also allowing more flexibilty with shells that can be run on mini has also boosted numbers.

The 13T motor has as much speed as a really fast sport tuned, however it does not fade or wear out as quick. ( I have been running mine for over a year and it is still competitive). You can also use the torque of the BL systems on smaller/tighter tracks.

I will never go back to brushed in a mini again. Almost nil maintenance and very cheap to purchase. My motor has been flogged twice weekly at racing meetings and other practice sessions and it is still going strong. The ease of changing throttle and braking profiles using the included programming card is a added bonus. THe other good point is that the BL systems have the same speed when either using Lipo's or NiMH's. I have found that the sport tuned motors worked better when using NiMH's rather than Lipo's.

If and when you change over, you will want to keep using it.

Just pulled the old MO3 of the shelf, what lipo battery (ROAR case) fits in the std chassis?

out of curiosity, anyone tried to use the hinge point on the outer lower front arm as the damper position? If you use the longer ball end for the shock shaft, it reaches it just right. I think it'll change the lever angle and add a different feel to the front end. Or am I just wasting my time?

The following Lipo's all fit a MO3:

Yeah Racing 3200
Harris 3200
Acepow 4000
M Power 4000
Orion 3200
Orion 3400

IP 4000 fits however not on the list.
