Default TRF Shock Spring

Anyone know if the Yellow springs that come with the TRF shocks are the same as the following part?
53631 TRF Short Damper Spring (Medium) Color: Dark Yellow

Thanks in advance.

Should be. You could actually go to SpeedTech's website and look at the Tamiya springs as they have part numbers on them.

Hi every big brothers,

Just join the m04 party. Any setting suggest?

I have change the shock to TRF one and change the spring to the short one. Front red, rear yellow. What should I use on the oil. Currently front and rear associated 35. Ball differential would be added later.

Thanks a a lot

21T -> 5.07
19T -> 5.61

With a 23T pinion and a silver stock tamiya motor the mini should be flying

I have the 34T Tobee Craft spur, and it's quite a bit smaller than the stock 37T spur. So with a big 23T pinion, it is almost a perfect fit using the 19T mounting holes. I've enlarged one of the 19T holes slightly for a better mesh.

With 60D tyres it gets a 40mm rollout. It should go pretty good, I haven't driven it yet in this setup tho My car's an M04M though, not a Mini Cooper.

Hey guys I bought a M04 and I noticed that the shocks did not allow the car to bottom out. This is good but I think it limits shock travel and I am loosing some of my shock action. They are some aftermarket shocks and I was wondering if I needed to get different shocks. I would like some suggestions for better shocks or is this a normal condition.

Also any help with oil and spring would be great.

Thanks

Chris

I started out with regular-sized oil shocks, which were ok, but the car is much better on the specially-short, "Super Mini CVA" Tamiya shocks. I fitted them with the supplied 6mm internal spacer, and with the #53333 short Touring Car tuned springs it sits nice and low with a 7mm ride height. It handles infinitely better (doesn't roll over anymore) but yes it does bottom out now.

Finally ! that took awhile to read all 25 pages of this thread ! . LOTS of great info . I am currently rebuilding my M03 . So far all i have is a esc and ballbearings , a set of S grip ( on the reinfored rims ) a couple sets of stock mini tires and a set of 1/10 TC Slicks . I am waiting to get some alloy pin style wheel adapters to replace my cracked plastic ones . As well as a set of Super mini cva dampers . Well here is a pic . I have a new Tamiya Body sitting in my closet , but I can't get the guts to paint it . I think i will just use this one ( in pic ) until it is in such bad shape it is unusable . Or get a pro to paint my mini body for me . Anyway I hope the mini stays around for awhile since they are cheap to run , Fun and with a good setup and a skilled driver , they can be competitive with the local racing clubs at the enty/sportmans level anyway . I be checking back regularly , see ya .

I have been following this thread for a while now...and all I can say is that there's a nice bunch of enthusiasts here. Helpful and supportive. This thread actually influenced me to get a MO3. And I sure was pretty happy with the buy. Never had so much fun for a long while The tips here sure helped me to build and tune the mini. Keep it up and thanks.
Btw here's my Mini.

Mr.Pink, Sonicnova glad to see more people into minis. I have wanted one for many years. Earlier this year I finally got my mini(m03). I have always been a fan of the "Mr.Bean car".

Peace Aaron(W-W)
