What’s up gang? I just got my M04L Beetle delivered on Monday and I have been working on it for the last couple of nights. Thus far, I have completed the front and rear suspensions and the gearbox. I have a couple of questions, however:
1. The left rear suspension seems to be binding. I am not sure why this is happening. I made sure that everything was not too tight and it does not look like I have any flashing or anything gumming up the works. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?
2. I’m running the friction shocks for now and will probably do a few races with them. Does anyone have any advice on how to set them up to be as good as possible? I will be running on an indoor asphalt track with good grip.
3. Will a standard Futaba S3003 steering servo fit? What about a standard sized Futaba receiver (I need to buy these still, so I can’t test fit)?
Also, does anyone have suggestions for tires? I am hoping to keep it TCS legal.
Thanks!

If your suspension is binding, 99% of the time, the screws are too tight. Try loosening everything 1 turn. If it still binds, check your suspension links and make sure they are installed correctly. Your receiver and servo should fit. A lot of us run our receivers side saddle anyway

Double check that you installed the two halves of the arms together correctly. There is a mark inthe drawing and on the part that is suposed to line up, and if you do it backwards things will bind. (I came across the same thing when I built my first mini). In my experience even with the screws as tight as tight can be there is still lots of play in the mini if it is assembled correctly.

3RACING MINI SHOCKS
Has anyone tried the 3Racing Mini Shocks and if so what weight oil did you use with the one hole shock piston for front and rear.
Thank you

On carpet, I use Supergrips all round, or Supergrips on the front and M Grips at the rear. The kit D60 Radials work well, but dont tend to last as long. I'm on my 12th meeting ( 2 x 5 minutes practice, and 3 x 4 minute races each meeting) with Supergrips all round, and they show little signs of wear and still have plenty of grip. I'm currently running HPI medium moulded inserts (10th scale cut to fit)
