Consider it Confirmed!
I did use the M03M front upright and knuckle, as well as the rear upright.
I don't remember the weights, but it was quite a bit lighter. I had to add 60 grams to my car to make weight.
I found the car to be more nimble, with the lighter suspension. As well as you have 2 ackerman holes, with out the heavy aluminum front knuckle. or all the trouble that comes with the stock plastic knuckle.
I also used the sleeve and screw for the king pin, like was used on the 414M. that was like nearly 10 grams.
it is like $20 or $25 to convert, give it a try for yourself

You need an overall length (end to end) of around 62mm for the rear shocks on the conversion. As opposed to the normal 55mm we use on the M03 all round normally (still used on the front of the converted car).
You can still use the Super Mini shocks, just dont use the internal spacer and I think thats about right.

What servo and servo saver are you using? It only happens to me when I use an old s148 servo and a loose servo saver. Still, once it gets going it goes straight.
Could be a balldiff issue also.

I use the stock servo saver with a spring ring from the high torque servo saver clamped on the outside of it...works awesome and the car tracks straight as an arrow.

But the 03M plastic front knuckles are stronger than the M03 parts and lighter than the aluminum option parts.

've had the M suspension on the 04, and it's been great for me.. I had the aluminum knuckles before, but I've never had to replace an upright in many a dozen races.

Thanks for the great input. Sounds like I will be giving the M03m suspension parts a try on my M04m.

Default M03R parts

Looking to get the M03R,

1. What other alternative is there to the ESC TEU-101BK for a speed control (b/c is doesn't come with a ESC right?)?
2. Is there much difference between the 53571 TRF Damper Flourine Coat vs. 49355 TRF Damper Special Blue? What shock Oil wt should I use or have in stock?
3. Is the set of springs that come with the M03R the same as the 53333 Touring Car Tuned Spring (Short) or the 53163 On-Road Tuned Spring Set or Neither. Should I pick up additional springs like the 53633 TRF Short Damper Spring (Ex-hard)?
4. Does the M03R come with a Ball Differential or do I have to pick up the 53267 TA03 Ball Diffential? and is the 53205 M-Chassis Universal Shaft Set and 53217 Hard Joint Cups (Ball Diff) recommended?
5. Are these additional parts recommended: 53301 TL01 Stainless Steel Suspension Shaft Set, 53348 M03 Ball Bearing Set, 53343 Front & Rear Stabilizer Set, 53346 Quick Release Battery Holder, 53390 Hollow Carbon Gear Shaft, 53646 Wheel Spacer Set, and 50743 Hi-Torque Servo Saver?
6. Is the Futaba S9550 Low Pro Servo a good servo to use or what other servo's are recommended?
7. What are current legal TCS maximum batteries (mha) allowed to be used? and what brand do you recommend?
8. Any other suggestions for spare parts?
9. How much did anyone order from Rainbow10 or RC Champ and what were their shipping costs and Duty Taxes to Canada? Just getting an idea of S&H.

Thanks,

Ivan

BoneCrusher, this is my opinion
1. Any speed control will do. I use Futaba MC330
2. silver & blue. They are same
3. Springs are the ones you buy separate. (short TRF springs)
4. No they only come with gear diff, Yes I recommend ball diff, uni and cup joint.
5. if you got money get them all. if not drop gear shaft, battery holder and Stabilizer set
6. Thatís what I use
7. Don't know
8. If you are getting M03R, change shock mount with 53969 5x8 ball connector, F-parts and gear set 50794
9. Ask Masa from champ FYI I paid $100 AUD shipping + paypal fee for 2x M03R with some hop-up and body.

Thanks HI,

Could you clarify:
1. Springs? Which ones should I get extra?
2. I'm planning to get stronger Shocks and the Blue one's that come with the M03R sounds like they may break with a lot of hard driving. Are the shock mount with 53969 5x8 ball connector going to fit with the TRF Damper's (53571 or 49355)?
3. Are the extra F-parts and gear set 50794 for spare parts or to use instead of the nice aluminum ones?

That's a good idea on what S&H is from RCChamp...but do they charge Duty Taxes in your country?

For spring I don't know your truck so I don't know which ones to recommend.
53630 red TRF short (2 springs comes in M03R)
53631 yellow TRF short (2 springs comes in M03R)
53632 blue TRF short (2 springs comes in M03R)

I got almost every Tamiya springs because I use TRF shock on my RDX as well.(short springs red-white, long springs red-purple) On my mini I use TRF shock 53571 : blue short on front and blue long on rear for my local out door truck.
Take off stock plastic blue shock and replace with TRF shock or super mini shock 50746. Clear ones are too nice to wreck'em.
53969 are for off road so they are strong and yes it will fit on any tamiya shock.
F-parts and gear set are the most parts I've replaced so far on my mini. I guess for F-parts you will be using alloy bits so if they are strong as I hope you'll only need F1 bit.
No tax in Australia if it's under $1000AUD.

I had this exact problem. I drive 2 cars on race day so I thought I was maybe accidentally messing up my radio settings. Turns out the servo ear was broken and the servo was being held in by 1 screw. Check that.

Hey guys, I just stepped into the world of the Mini. Our local track is trying to get a class of them going. We're hoping to make it an easy class for novices to get started in and a fun class for our regular hardcore racers. I'm a regular racer and have enjoyed reading what you guys are doing to get this thing dialed. There's much more to it then I thought. We're planning on using TCS rules to keep it under control. Anyone have any suggestions on making a healthy and flourishing class? Right now it's myself and another couple guys. We're getting some people interested, just need to set the hook. We're thinking of a 15 or 20 minute main. I'm thinking cash races for our regular trash talkers, after hours, of course. What have you all done? I'm in FT Wayne, Indiana.

Here is a picture of mine. I need some more stickers.

Thanks guys.
