Default Thanks

The article that you are probably referring to on the Tamiya web site is
Built to win – BMW mini building and setup guide by David Beale.
And yes it has a lot of very good info.

Thanks again for your insight.

Have a look at this article written by grand poobah David Beale: Built to Win - BMW Mini Building and Setup Guide

Hope that helps.
So you in your opinion you think regular bearings cleaned out and ran are free'er then ceramic bearings?

So what is the "maximum" power the car/gears can handle safely? 13T? 19T?

rtypec is talking about the rubber shielded bearing set for the EvoIII. those are pretty free when you clean them out.

Its due to that fact that the cars have a short wheelbase, narrow track, and little tires. They can't handle much power unless spinning tires, no control, and roll overs excite you. The silver can is probably the best but a stock motor is probably the most powerful i'd go.

Actually a mod in the mini is really fun, the issue is getting the power to the ground.
There is a company in Japan that makes a different gearset for the mini, but it is not TCS legal.
The only comment about David Beales article is, there is a new style U joint out for the mini, other than the one he listed, and I feel it is a better part.
Also on the Tamiya track I have run a much harder spring. Also if he didn't mention it thay also offer a swaybar kit, and I find I use one end or the other to tune the car.

Default gearset

Do you have a web site for the company that carries the different gearset for the mini.

Rough guess a yen is a penny.
Or you can type currency conversion in the search bar on say Google. I'm sure there are many places that would do it correctly

The cars were flyin. I couldn't tell what was racing. It seemed like there was at least 1 car that was longer than the other minis.
