True if Tamiya advertised as such and people knew about them being available separately.

Instead it takes a Tamiyafile like me to share this knowledge on their behalf lol.

Tamiya 58640 Mazda 2 / Demio (M-05 chassis) seems to be long wheelbase

It also seems to be ABS rather than polycarbonate based on what I've read.

Edit: Found a conflicting source. Take this comment with a grain of salt.

Manual seems to indicate polycarbonate and 239mm wheelbase

Agreed! I may have to resort to ABC Hobby bodies in the future. Well, after I go through the stash of Rover Mini bodies I have hamster'ed away.

I don't like it as well

Silvia on my M06 is good, never tried on M05 as it is a short wheelbase as for me M05L is fastest.

2016 Tamiya World Champion used a Mazda RX7 body on M05L.

wait, the Nissan Silvia is listed as a long wheelbase -or so I thought?
Mazda RX7, -is that body still being produced? If not, I thought you couldn't use discontinued bodies at TCS events.

Anyone able to translate that winning setup sheet?

yeah, according to the Tamiya site, that 1st gen RX7 body has been discontinued.
Surprised that it was allowed to run at a TCS event?

I just asked that question a few posts ago. Apparently they still sell the shell and decals separately, they've only discontinued the set.

I've never understood why real world car companies wouldn't want to make licensing cheap for the r/c car bodies. What better way to get kids hooked on a brand than to let them drive one before they can get their operators license.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind older model cars being phased out if they updated them with newer versions.
