Tamiya mini cooper
I have to say though, the 55mm's look so much better with its low profile sidewalls.
I also like the Sweep's wheel diameter and tires they have, but their grip is terrible on my track. So I pretty much only run Shimizu's 55mm's now.

A lot of guys run Shimizu at our track, I wonder if they are on the 60d ones.
Could be. If they look meaty I'm sure they are.
Making a little list for my buddy to buy RC stuff in Japan before coming here.
He sent me a link to a shop near him so asked me to just send him links of what I want.
A few sets of big bore dampers, Tamiya's Rover Mini body decal sheets (sheets only), Rover wheels, GF01 (truck) body and decal set, some other things I forget.. too bad this shop is not a TOP Racing dealer..

Not sure if I updated about the RS1 body buy I had the body clip to high in the back. I dropped it down one notch and then BAM it fits perfect. Definitely going to try another one in the future....lots of things I could improve on from doing this one.
That's interesting about diameters, we are stuck with the standard gearing and I feel my car is handling well, not losing much speed in the corners (I basically am on full throttle the whole time) I wonder if going to a taller tyre will gain me much. Very large track.
I'm using sweep 33 on the front and 25 on the back

You can actually get both ...I run the 60's and am pretty much full throttle ...just some hair pins and tight corners that I let off.
There are other ways to get speed besides gearing which is what makes this class so much fun. I balance my wheels, have tested every lubricant known to man to get everything to spin as freely as possible and have worked on getting my motor to perform as cool as can be (and thus stronger). ...

What are you able to get the Big Bore Tamiya dampers for? -just curious how much of a savings when purchased in Japan at a local store.
Basically it's a pick your poison.
I do the same when I visit him from the US.
Hi, kinda new to the mini's and had a question.... Im slowly upgrading my M05 with Tamiya aluminum parts and just ran into something odd I have the aluminum motor mount and noticed that the steering arm on that side will not seat all the way down..... will the aluminum ones alleviate this?

The sweeps are 24grams lighter than the 60d's for a set of four. The best of both worlds would be the biggest radial tires with jb blue inserts(20+ grams savings)..
that is the dilemma ...better handling or higher top speed.

From what I can see Shimizu, Ride and Tamiya do 60d tyres. I think I've got some experimenting to do. With silver can I think light weight is important possibly more than absolute grip.

There's more to racing than being underweight. If you still had a local track to actually race at, you'd know this.
