I do not use the droop screws as the chassis is not flat and can not be adjusted equally. I just use my MO5 M chassis TRF shocks 54000 on my MO5V2. If I was upgrading a MO5 to the new kit I would get the A parts and motor mount. For one piece arms I would use either Tech racing, 3Racing, Spice or Spec R items. The new motor mount does place the motor 1mm more towards the centre and also contains the 0.6mm spacer for the middle gear. I am unsure if this is required with the old motor mount. If you do not use the spacer the middle gear moves left to right which may effect the amount of contact space between the gears.
Just my thoughts, this way can use the standard inner a arms lower hinge screws.

I prefer the short square lipo pack in the new car, then I can add weight where I want too. My shortie pack weighs 202 grams to which I have added a 10 gram lead weight.

Battery choice is up to yourself. My shortie pack is offset to the non motor side of the car.

Cal, I believe the 1.6mm spacer is required when using the new motor mount as they've shaved 1.6mm off of the boss where the spur gear shaft goes into the motor plate (on the aluminum version). The old motor mount and the plastic one both seem to have that extra bit of material built into them.

BTW, I continue to have the odd problem of the car coming off the track at the end of a race, making a lot of noise in the gearbox. If I loosen and retighten the motor screws a few turns, it silences the problem. I'm beginning to wonder if heat buildup is making things move around, or if minor bumps on the track are throwing it off. I had a little knock while practicing last week and it began making a racket immediately. So, loosen, tighten, quiet. Weird.

I tried some anti seize inthe dif... worked fine for a few laps...
wow.. wha a clean up job tonight... the dif was empty..

Have some sculpey, like hard playdoo Should thst work in the dif??

I was trying to find out if the revised motor plate had anything to do with it, so between runs tonight, I attempted switching the V2 plate out for the V1. I took a bunch of measurements and everything looked good. BUT, when I was buttoning the chassis up, I found the V1 plate to be a tiny bit taller than the V2 and it interfered with the pivot point for the right side steering bits. It even left a little mark on the plate. In the picture below, the V2 is on top of the V1. I think I heard something about this before. I'll notch it out and try again next week.

Came in the HPI RS4 MINI kits in the late nineties too.

Not sure why it was not available in N America, I have an old HPI body catalogue and it's listed there (early 2000s).

It was available up until about a year ago, then HPI discontinued all kinds of stuff in N. America. My friends told there are stacks available in the UK. A lot of companies run their regional divisions completely different from one another. (EG: Try getting Venom Australia to ship anything to N. America. They got cranky when I asked!) This seems to fit HPI's usual pattern.

Nah, don't think that's a HPI issue. It's a Venom issue because they can't be arsed to do it. Generally speaking few big Aussie companies are open to shipping overseas, it throws their relevant department in chaos.

What did you try to buy off Venom? They don't have too much interesting stuff.

Oh no, not saying they're related. Just a similar situation - company sells product worldwide, but not the same product in all markets, and won't allow "cross market" sales.

Can't remember what I wanted. Could've been green alloy bits or possibly that mini carrier bag they did. One way or the other, no dice.

Jim,
I still have a couple of the Miata bodies, might keep them for a rainy day. Never used them, still not painted, same as a couple of monster mini bodies. I also found a Tamiya BMW Roadster and a Tamiya Mercedes.
Not sure if they qualify as hard to get, but have them in my new body collection with a Audi TT by protoform.
