I know the HW 13t seems to be the most popular set up, but has anybody ever tried the Tacon 12t 2950?
http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m26-car-3650-2950.html

I have a feeling you would get quite a bit more bottom end out of the 540 tacon.

Do you still run a 20T pinion with the HW 13t?

I have seen a couple of vids with the 13T and they realy scoot

does the 35a HW esc get hot without a fan? not that there is not room to keep it on.

So I bought a used M05 and planned on making it look my real mini cooper s that I drive. However I did not realize the 2006 Mini Cooper S body is longer and I guess it is meant for the long M03L... http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=58400 Has anyone used this body on a M05? If so, how did you mount it because it already has holes in the body and I really didn't want to add more... Is there any different body posts that I can use? Thanks for your help.

you just make the m05 into lwb by following the instruction manual. everything you need is already on the chassis, its not like the m03 where you need extra bits to do it.

Thank you very much! I didn't get a manual with the car so I will go to their website and download it now. I was starting to get bummed out I couldn't use that body! You made my day. - (this was the whole reason I got a M05... )

Quick question with hopefully a quick answer:

Are the M04 bodyposts the same position and an M05? ie: Will a body designed and drilled for an 04 fit an 05?

Cheers

M-04 posts are positioned differently. More like an M-06.

Yep - LWB

This is a Radio Control replica of the MINI JCW Coupe race car, which raced in the SP 3T class at the 39th ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nurburgring 2011. This car was based on the new 2-seater MINI Coupe and features race-spec modifications including a sharper windshield angle, adjustable suspension and rear wing, and a 247hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder twin-scroll turbo engine that enables a top speed of 240km/h. The Tamiya RC car is built on the popular M-05 M-Chassis platform, which is easy to build and fun to drive.

Specs and Features
1/10 scale R/C assembly kit.
Kit includes FREE BONUS PARTS (Matte-Finished Gold-Plated 8-Spoke Wheels x 4pcs.) Initial 2012 release only.
Polycarbonate body, rear wing and light bucket cases included.
Separately-molded side mirrors are made of ABS plastic.
Body is mounted on the nimble front wheel-drive M-05 chassis with long wheelbase (239mm).
M0-5 Chassis features front wheel drive, independent double wishbone suspension with oil filled damper units.
Gear differential included.
Vinyl sticker sheet and masking seals for windows included.
Includes 540 motor and Tamiya TEU-104BK ESC.

Why do you think they made a point of mentioning that it has a gear diff? New type of of gear diff or just taking advantage of the current hype? I'm hoping for new product.
