I am really having problems picking tires and wheels

I have the tc wheels now and they have a 3mm offset and fill the wells nicely. the stock minis just look funny, inset to much. The problem I have is I will probably change bodies, I guess all the standard Tamiya bodys are made for 0 offset. My stock width is 165mm

I guess I should wait till I get another body to see what I need?
Lets say I get a set of sweeps unmounted they wont fit on a HPI MX60 rim? only like HPI mini star or tamiya rc-m wheels?

If I wanted to run the MX60, what are my tire options, they are the only ones I could find with 3mm offset

has anyone had any luck with different diff out drives to stop the wear....i'm running a m-05 with the ta-01 one way diff and m-03 outdrives....with the hw bl setup...it just chews thru them. haven't had much luck looking around.

A one-way? Umm how do you stop the thing? One of these hardened outdrives will do the job - 53217, 53218. Can't tell you which one as I've never heard of anyone using a one-way in a Mini before so I don't know for sure which will fit.

53597 - M03/05 Universals. Easy as. Just buy them, that's all you need to know.

I love that body too, but it's not really for a mini. It wont look any good with standard sized mini wheels/tyres, and as tony said, won't handle very well with the TC sized wheels. Catch 22 situation there. Odd size that they made that body. Probably more for the traxxas rally car which is 180 or so wide. Traxxas did actually come out with a limited edition Camaro body. TBG possibly just copied that cause it looked so cool.

You could always fit the Ride Inch up tyres and rims which are 60D size and have a low profile shoulder. The Mc 38's front and either Sc 36 or Sc 32 rear.

The rims have a 2mm offset and they would fill the space completely.

They are available from Rc Mart and FeralBatteries.

I use the "bone savers" from touring cars. AE, XRay etc. have them. Google it.
They are plastic U shaped pieces that snap onto your dogbone/outdrive end of your cvd and last a long time plus they are replaceable.
You will need to open up the outdrive slot so they will fit. I did this to a worn pair and haven't needed another set.
I actually used them on standard dogbones (bones on both ends).
Problem was that they take up every bit of space, end to end and will create a bind when steering is near full lock. Not a good thing.

What do you mean by "stop"? I've run a one way in my cars. Works like a charm until you need to st...oh yeah, stop. Depends on driving style, really. I prefer a spool, but the one way works if you tend to never use brakes, like me.

Just put little disc brakes on the outdrive and a micro heli servo. Brake problem solved.

i would burn thru a set of both of those part numbers in 2 nights max....had some luck tonight...we hardened a set like what some of the sct guys do with the blitz's and got to the night without any hop that would start when the outdrives wear......going to take the front apart to get a better look at them.

and stop.....hmmmmm don't!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

A cheap option is using the3 Racing universals ... cheaper than the Tamiya version and the quality is very good

Droop. I seen racer remove those by adding a 1mm or 2 spacer in their shock. any reason ?

should i do it to rear only or both ?

Droop is a tuning option. Change it and see the differences.

Generally speaking, more droop is better on bumpy tracks and generates more feeling of grip. It can also make the car feel lazy and have a greater tendency to traction roll.

I run my car with a very small amount of droop all round, 0.5-1mm.

Is that droop measured from ride height, then with the car picked up? And that's at the dampers?
