Yes, it is scheduled for release on the same date as the Hotshot III, TT-02 and TRF502X.

Probably in late 08, earliy 09. There's still a TRF edition that usually follows the "R" version.

I would not have thought the TA05 would have been replace for at least another 2 or 3 years. It is not a top line touring car like the 414/415/416, so it doesn't get replaced as often.

The only thing I can see them doing with parts they have now...
TA05RXXXwhatever...
full carbon parts/chassis
new arms, c-hubs, etc. just like 416 has
then the rest of the TA05R parts.

Probably Tamiya will issue out a couple more of the TA05-IFS variation including another MS, R or PRO versions before they EOL this chassis. Looking at the way they issue out new kits (eg. TRF415MSXX MRE vs TRF416), it seem like TA06 is not too far away... as long as it drive sales.
Nevertheless, the trend may change again and not surprise a re-surrection of shaft drive chassis again... We may see EVO 6 or a TB-03 soon...
