I'm running my TA06 in a VTA class, only upgrades I did on the Pro kit were Alloy Suspension Blocks, Alloy Hex Hubs, Hex head Screws throughout and standard 48 pitch gears.

the more im looking at the car the more i want a carbonfibre chassi! (last time at the track i placed the car next to a 416x, might be because of that )

looking forward to see the alien racing chassi

does anyone know if exotek is working on something for the ta06?

For the moment, it's the stock battery cover on the bottom. Not sure I will keep him because I don't like plastic too much...

For this first prototype, I have use 3mm thick chassis. We will see if it's too much or not...

I plan to cut suspension holder this evening and finish the car before sunday... Hope everything will be ok.

I just pm'd MikeR from exotek and he mentioned to expect it by winter '11 and the plastic uprights may be replaced by carbon/alloy counterparts!

wow, Tamiya surprised me... 3 items coming out on Sept 10.

1. Carbon battery hatch 54314
2. Heat sink motor plate 54315
3. Carbon reinforced lower deck 54316

never thought they'd release the chassis before the other parts tree.
just release the rest of the part while you are at it

so sept 10 is the ship to their resellers date? Atleast is isnt november. So you also have any info on the carbon battery plate? Is it like the Kawada one shown? Im just concerned that a carbon fiber chassis/non Tamiya parts will destroy my chances or racing it in a TCS race.

My understanding of TCS is that the cars may only use Tamiya hop ups.

When TCS was active in Australia, we were only allowed to use 27mhz and 29mhz radios as that's all the supplier imported at the time, 2.4ghz was only Spektrum, which was a competitor which made it a no no.

Yeah, tamiya is pretty strict with their rules. You can't even use aftermarket screws or washers (don't know how they tell) and you still have to use the dreaded tamiya connectors to this day.

The rules are not that strict. Obviously hop ups have to be Tamiya but certain hardware etc can be non tamiya, like screws and washers. Tamiya connectors are not required as well. Just look up the rules.

We've got two or three people from different countries arguing over Tamiya rules...

...suffice to say that Tamiya-class rules are local or national and NOT worldwide!

Tamiya Japan run one set of rules, Tamiya USA run another, Tamiya's UK importer used to run different rules again etc etc etc...
