With my 10.5 I about 5.15 FDR while I run 3.10 with my 17.5. I'm good as far as gearing, my question is about the apparent loss of punch and responsiveness when I switched from a 17.5 to a 10.5. Is the torque difference gap that big between the two motors? If need be 17.5 is Orion vst and the same for the 10.5

Well that gearing difference is huge. To really compare the difference between the two motors, you need to be running the a similar FDR. I would try to get the gearing closer to what you were running before.

Never thought of that. I'll give that a try sometime this week. Thanks

DON'T run a 10.5 at the same ratio as a 17.5 - you'll kill it in one run.

A 10.5 is a very different motor - a much more powerful motor - and you need to start from a clean slate when gearing it.

I fully agree with the clean slate. I've tried different spur/pinion combo from 93-101 spur, all with 3.20-3.25 FDR. I guess I haven't found the sweet spot like I did with the 17.5. Could I be asking took much from the chassis?

HI everyone, new guy here, I just bought myself one of these kits. first time I buy one that is not an rtr. I have a few questions, does it really matter what kind of radio system I get(i.e. futaba, etc)? Also my buddy has a HPI Vector 4800kv motor and vapor esc that he'll sell, but before I do that I was wondering, would this set up fit this chassis and would it even work on this car? Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.

hpi vektor motor has its wires coming out from the endbell's top tight? might be an iffy fit for the TA06... esc should be fine.

for the radio, if you plan to race, suggest you go with the midlevel radios from futaba (4PL) or sanwa/airtronics (MT4) if budget is tight...

It will work if the wires come out of the corner.

I'm awaiting the new chassis as well. The new chassis should allow for better wire management. I hope they make the battery opening bigger to accommodate more batteries without cutting or drilling the chassis.

Thanks for the pictures, no sway bars, and looks like the same front stiffners as the ta06 pro, so the overdose front stiffners should fit, now for the release date and when the stores get it in
