Thanks,
any motors with the tabs close the the bottom of the motor like Orion vst and tekin redline first gen. I've also heard about bending the tabs itself to fit the compartment. You do run the risk of breaking the tab if not properly executed.

Just a quick question. My 06 owns when we use to race with 17.5 with an 85 spur 55 pinion. When the track decided to go to 10.5, my car didn't have the same punch and responsiveness that my car had with the 17.5. No chance was done to the chassis except for the motor. I used a 95 spur due to the 88 spur being too small and can't mesh with the pinion properly. Is there something I'm missing ? I understand the torque difference between the motors. It's just too big of a difference if it's only the torque difference. If it's necessary, motor temps are 130 on 17.5 and 125 on 10.5 on average and I use 64 pitch. Thanks for helping

For TC classes we only run USVTA and USGT so nothing faster than a 21.5

I'm guessing if the only thing that you changed was the motor, then you may need to make another gearing change. Is there a reason that you can't run the same gears that you had in with the 17.5?

The 88 spur isn't big enough diameter wise to mesh with any of my pinion ie 28-33 pinion

I did. I used a 95 spur. My question is that I didn't have the same punch and responsiveness when I used a 85 spur.

Maybe go for a bigger pinion since u lowered the teeth on the spur by 10 so maybe go up in pinion by 10 teeth

terrible advice. BadPanda818 increase his spur by 11.7% ((95-85/85)x100) therefore he needs to increase his pinion by 11.7%, NOT 10 teeth, to maintain the same ratio he had before. Ex, if he had 33t pinion before, he needs a 36/37t pinion now.

I meant going up 10t from his 28t, oopps guess i wasnt clear enough but going up 10t from 28t is 38t so its not that far off. Badpanda818, what are the other people at your track running in terms of fdr? I would follow them
