Default TA-06 outside?

I am considering buying a TA-06 Pro for a summer racing series in a parking lot.
  • How does the TA-06 perform on low-medium traction asphalt?
  • Does high heat/humidity affect it any more/less than other TC?
  • Are there any problems with debris getting in the belt/pulley system?
  • Any thoughts on "must-have" up-grade parts? I've seen mention of a "chassis stiffener" but I'm not sure where it installs. If it limits flex, it may not be useful to me on the outdoor asphalt.

My plans include purchase of some spares such as:
  • C-hub carriers,
  • steering uprights,
  • suspension arms.
Are there any spares that are likely to break on hard hits that I have missed?

There is no LHS associated with the series so I have to bring spares. I do have a LHS kind of near home and mail-order, of course.

thanks for any/all responses.

Add rear hubs too, and some bearings.
TIP: The front lower knuckle screws....pull out easily or break out the steering upright mounting hole, because they are 1.5 mm too short. Change these out to slightly longer ones, so the threads just go flush on the inside. Be careful... too long, and they will interfere with the cvd and pop off the retaining clip. The kit supplies with flat head screw. I just changed out to longer cap head, and added a washer (for clearance) and have not had that issue since.

I got mine off some guy off ebay, this is where you can buy it regularly.
http://www.broadtech.hk/eagleshop/sh...spx?id=TA06-15

I bought tons from them; front & rear bulkheads, rear cf tower, c hubs, rear knuckles, carbon chassis(which i am currently selling- unused, but opened [on ebay] ) VDF ackerman arm extenders, ta05 weighted bumper ( for drift) among other things.

I just sugguest the ems shipping it gets stateside in about 10 days, otherwise it takes about 27... I am impatient.

Thanks, I hadn't read about those. I'll add them to my list and make the screw change if I get get a TA-06.

If you get one, get the TA06 PRO, instead of the standard TA06.

With the PRO, you get:
CVDs (instead of dogbones)
TRF Threaded Alum Shocks (instead of plastic preload spacer shocks)

The Aluminum turnbuckles are a double edge deal.....I like them, but my friend has bent 3 of them (so far). But, that is an easy swap, for some similar length Traxxas steel turnbuckles (cheap), or some Associated Titanium equivalents.

Although, with the PRO kit, you also don't get a body (which, btw, won't handle as well as a Protoform race body) or a stock 540 silver can.

If I get one, it will be the Pro. I'm looking for a used TC first, to save money, but want something that will share parts with my TA05. As you pointed out, the shocks and CVD are worth the extra money and less than buying the parts later. I'd replace the turnbuckles with steel, I bump into things [or occasionally someone bumps into me] so I need the extra strength.

The class I am planning on running is a spec silver can type class with race truck bodies [something different ] and probably VTA wheel/tires or something like that. So, the lack of tires/body/motor is no big deal.

I have not had the need, as it don't roll anywhere near as much as the TA05 did.
