I'm going to make a lipo chassis myself I think, I'll use the gt3 setup and I've ordered a 2s saddlepack battery to use in a std lab and the new chassis set up. It will largely stay the same design with the backend narrower and without the battery slots.

Airwave we need to talk about that rear belt. Your mother and I, we are not angry, just... disappointed. We've been through this. When are you going to learn, young man?

Rclab gt3.5 lol lipo chassis well under way

Still need to countersink all holes and add holes for the diffs and motor cooling and add holes for the battery straps and servo once I receive it as I might move it in closer to the centre line now with the smaller servos available these days!

Cheers
Chris

Done other than a smaller rear belt this one is just wrong anyway, waiting on a new servo also before drilling holes and need to make some lipo L holders.

Nice work, Chris!

Tried TA05 diffs in the car ... the diffs are too narrow so back to square 1 for finding compatible diffs with this car.

Ive had a friend measure both and yes the TA05 is well to small, 17mm between the bearings!

The TRF type though is 20.98mm while the Lab ones are 25.42mm so overall 4.44mm narrower, making 2.22mm either side which I think could be spaced out well to line up belt position.

Lab measurements are....

Overall = 55.37mm
bearing gap = 25.42mm
bearing face dia = 9.92mm

TRF ones

Overall = 51.77mm
bearing gap = 20.98mm
bearing face dia = 10.03mm

The real question is, where is Seaball, and how does he feel about this?

Right now,the lowest hole is what I'm at with foams and rubber.If I were to have small foams(thin)I would drop it to the highest hole to compensate.To do that,I'll need a sponsor for foams...
keep truing them to that size.Sway bars in the frt would help too to keep it from jacking.I'll work on a better way to mount the frt sways so it work better without breaking the frt ball ends for the link on the frt lwr arms.Keep on coming boys........

btw - i did learn how to moonwalk today thanks to a michael jackson special. now back to figuring this out.

lata folks.

Long time no post! But I'm still at it racing the lipo chassis one mainly, every other week at my local club. Planning to have a go at some national type events next year to see how it performs against a wider audience!

Making a few changes last night, struggling with turn in so reducing caster, right side showing the alloy parts being added, C carriers are 5 degree not 7 as std on the left.
