You can pick up a used TC3/TC4 tubby on RCtech or HobbyTalk for $60-$100 pending on the options, you think that's too much? I have personally sold several nice TC3/TC4 tub cars in the trader section here in that price range.

Screw Ebay, people jack stuff up waaay more than its worth. Watch the Trader section here. Nice used cars come up all the time.

you can blame that on the fact that they have use again.

before people darn near were giving them away, now, with VTA and other classes where these old chassis are competitive, they have a renewed value.

I'd pay $60 to $125 for the Team or Factory Team TC3 if you can get your hands on one. The FT version will cost a little more. They are worth every penny. Once they break the $125 mark, I'd get a JL10e. For the price point and quality the OFNA is a great choice. Parts support for the TC3 is exceptional as they still make the same parts for the gas version.

Is Novak the only place to get the 25.5 motors at the moment? I can't find them listed anywhere else.

We do not sell our 25.5 motors through distribution; however, we do have a program for hobby shops selling to USVTA participants enabling them to purchase these items directly from us.

Any hobby dealer who wants this purchasing info can contact [email protected] for assistance.

Yep, and older used kits are still a bargain when you consider a new "competitive" TC kit will run a guy between $350-$550

EXACTLY! If you cant easily get parts for it then it's worthless! That's another reason why Associateds so popular, parts are sold at most any hobby shop and they are dirt cheap.

The reason I am now thinking about a JL10e vs a TC4 is a new chassis for 115-130 vs an average 120.00 used chassis that I may have to overhaul/rebuild. Also the JL10e is a 195mm chassis. With the HPI 5 spokes, HPI Camaro body and some slightly wider 12mm hexes, this will give 210 on the rear wheels and fill the Camaro rear wheel wells nicely.

so far I have been happy with my budget beater STR4 Pro IIs from Academy. There parts are probably some of the beefiest I have used in a touring car since they are a direct transfer from the buggy platfrom, SBV2. For the money i have in them (about $70 a roller), excellent cars and highly durable.

I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I had sent an email to the vta website and didnt get a return.

Are most vta tracks running the 21.5 with 7.4v or can you run a combo of any of the motor specs? Also it says motor timing is allowed. Is that fixed motor timing or electrical esc timing allowed? We are thinking of adding this class at my track and was looking for some specifics. Thanks Aaron
