Default TC4 Set ups?

Hello Fellow vta racers.
I am looking for set ups for an associated TC4 are they set up similar to the TC3? Thanks in advance.

Probably any of these rubber asphalt setup would be a good starting point.

I agree... choose one of the asphalt settings. Only thing that's really different between my setup and those are the fact i run zero shims under the rear arm mounts and a 1 under the front arm mount to get a slight bit of kick-up.

I also shim the camber links so they are pretty close to parallel with the arms. Gives me a good basic setup on med grip concrete and i can just adjust springs from there.

Try experimenting with shock oil as well. I'm currently using AE40wt oil front and rear.

With the new rules starting in two months.

What is everyone using for driver figures. I've seen some basic helmet and body set ups, but I've also seen some creative action figure type drivers.

What is legal? Anything goes?

Show me yours!

Thanks

I used the Tamiya "Z PARTS 58124" driver figure from the Hornet. It's realistic and meets the rules requirement of head and shoulders. I believe the driver figure is already a requirement under the current rules, but I don't see it being checked. There are plenty of cars that don't have them or simply stick out-of-scale doll heads in the car. My own feeling on it is if nobody is going to follow the rule and it isn't being checked, then why have it. Make it an option and let people have fun with it if they want.

If you have any F1's running in the area, use the molded in drivers from the discarded bodies.

Driver figure is suggested under the current rules, but come Sept 1 it will be a requirement.

Let's hope not! We are not using it unless someone wants to have it in car.

Stupid rule.

Completely ruins the look of a cool VTA car seeing that cheezy head floating around in there.

No, what ruins the look of a cool VTA car is wires and bits showing through the window and NO driver. "In the day" ROAR rules required drivers, etc, so this is NOTHING new.

Drivers are a great rule. Can be done elaborately or simply, expensively or pretty nicely on the cheap.

"It's too much money" is a weak cover for "I don't want to".

imho

ps...before you get your panties in a twist check with your local track(s) to make sure they're even going to enforce the rule. I don't think anyone did last year other than the VTA Nats.

Our cars are slow and heavy enough. I am not a fan of ''drivers" in the car. Making these cars slower and weigh more is not going to draw more people to the hobby. My .02 cents

If your name was, say, Ralph Burch or Rick Howart you MIGHT be able to measure a time difference with vs. without a vac interior/driver figure. Otherwise, don't kid yourself. No effect on "real world" performance, non-starter as far as rationale for "why I don't want one".

Further reason that particular argument is a non-starter? Note the new higher weight minimum for next year...unless you're running a tubby TC3/4 with a paint job the thickness of which can be measured with a ruler the fact is most of us will be adding weight anyway.

The driver figure does not weigh much at all.
