Thanks for the answers Ive thought of investing in one. I figured the D compound on the VTA tires could use all the help they can get. I will always start in the rear durring the qualifers just because of lack of traction at the tone. watch everyone wreck on the first turn and drive around everyone

I have seen people be all over the board with their "seriousness" in VTA. Sometimes its what ever old gear you have lying around, lob off two cells and do it. Other times its tire warmers on the latest greatest TC with a 40c 5000mah setup. While I cant bust on anyone for taking it seriously, I have more fun with the casual groups. I personally go back and fourth on this philosophy. On one hand you should never expect much if you dont put in the effort. On the other hand if you are that serious why not just run TC. Oh yeah I remember why. These things are cool!

The cool thing about racing at one of Ray Murray's events is that there is always balance. For every racer who puts in the effort and deserves to win, there's someone half-assing the day who won't even put tools out, yet everyone has fun! Case in point.

I don't take it too serious I have a Old chassie,I use a Fishing bag for my stuff, I got a couple alen wrenches and screw drivers that were laying around the house an I love it! I wouldent go and spend $200 on a warmer but if the deal is too good I wont pass it up but puting a little effort into it and winning is nice too

Its ususally great everyone knows what to expect. Until someone saves all their cash for that optomized kit, and the Tekin RS and the 40c battery, tire warmers. Then they practice until the track owners say just lock it and turn off the lights. They are there every day and when race day comes around some former world champion shows up and lets his nine year old kid blow your doors off.

Just kidding. None of that is true except the last sentence.

Well at least he used some of the least expensive tire warmers.
I don't blame him a bit, I hate driving a loose car. LOL

Very nice. Are you staying in the same place you did for the nationals?

That's my Mountain Dew in the left of that picture! She is a cutey! I had a Vendetta tire that I was using to prop something up with, and she had her eyes on it for a few minutes. I handed it to her, and you would've thought I handed her a piece of gold. I've never seen a kid's eyes get so big!

VTA A-main results from last night...... top 3 vehicles were only separated by 5 seconds after 8 minutes, and 4th-6th were only 1 lap down I believe..... Mark Lyons took 1st (TC5/Camaro), I held onto 2nd (TC4/Camaro) and I believe Bob Cordell took 3rd (TC5/Pegasus Mustang).

I think Associated vehicles took 4th and 5th too

And I think I found the cheapest set of tire-warmers ever last night. It's called A COUPLE OF PRACTICE LAPS
