East Coast of Florida's ONLY club running VTA will be racing this weekend. I'll try and get some pics. We're actually quite proud that we've stuck it out with VTA and now USGT. Slow but steady growth. Always some of the closest and most fun racing to be had. If you're not racing VTA and USGT now......."Just do it !"
(sorry nike for borrowing your slogan)

The ROAR Committee is coming close to a final decision on which classes they are going to offer at the Carpet Nats next March. So far it looks like there is very minimal interest in a VTA Class (only 2 responded with 'Yes') from people outside the state of Texas. If there is no more interest, then the VTA class may not happen in March. Come on!!! There has to be more VTA drivers who want to see a VTA class happen at the ROAR Carpet Nats. Speak up!

You cant honestly believe you can rely on a forum on whether or not to have a class do you? Not EVERY VTA racer comes to this thread, not every racer is even on rctech. Your limiting yourself A LOT if your solely basing it on this

One thing to note for the roar committee is the poll over on the snowbirds (which is using full USVTA rules) site http://poll.pollcode.com/GZhu_result?v for "what classes are you going to run". The results show 22 possible entries in the VTA class using full USVTA rules. Again making sure that roar will stick with USVTA rules is going to be hard but making it a 25.5 blinky class since roar can't play favorite there, but with spec tires and bodies IE USVTA tires and bodies would be a good start. Roar rules on this class as they stand are not inline with the true USVTA rules. I would think that would make a few hesitate to jump in on it.

I may be way off but i don't see people wanting to buy a new motor and pay the roar fees just to run this class. i would love to myself. I can afford it bit i still don't want to pay it. I would have to buy new batteries just to run as well.

Shouldnt need a battery if your running by USVTA rules as it states a ROAR approved battery

"Battery Specifications: 2 cell ROAR-approved LiPo hard cased, 5000 mAh limit"

If your not by the rules youd have to change for any USVTA event anyway

Don't think I understand what you mean either. If ROAR VTA went to 25.5 and ROAR spec speedo, then you should be completely comtetitive with a TRUE VTA car.

He may be in the same boat I am. ROAR approved batteries that the labels have come off. Good enough for local club racing but won't pass tech at a national championship race. My good Hudy battery tape has mangled the labels on my Gen ACE ROAR approved 40C 5000MAH 2S packs and stripped most of the printing off of my ROAR approved Venom packs. Next pair of packs are getting shrink wrapped with clear battery pack shrink wrap and will only be cut off when it is time for tech so ROAR can mark the batteries legal for the Nats.

All I want for Christmas this year is a VTA Exhibition class offered at the 2012 ROAR Carpet Nats. on March 16 - 18 in Dallas TX.
