yep, VTA is the best:

best looks

closest racing

cheapest parts etc

and what other class can you ask about rules etc and get instant answers

I agree, anything over about 28c is equal, and that it is about corner speed.

That doesn't mean I won't try to tune my car within an inch of it's life

I don't mention it much but I just want to say that VTA is working well for us and growing slow but steady. To my knowledge we are the only club in Florida running a legal VTA program. Most of our club is newbies and VTA has been a Godsend !! Perfect speed, the right looks and not cost prohibitive. VTA will continue to have our support !!!

Then you are the only VTA program there. The others are just a version of TC running some VTA options.

Default Returning to racing

I'm in north east Ohio and am looking for a place to run my two Trans Am cars. Any suggestions?

This may not be the closest, but there is a nice outdoor asphalt parking lot track in Dayton Ohio run by The Hobby Shop (that is the name of the store). Here is a link to their website (http://thehobbyshoponline.com)

Check out this link for some photos of the their outdoor layout (http://thehobbyshoponline.com/Forums...s/Default.aspx).

----------

I have made the trip from Indy to race at this location. The track is large and the driver's stand is tall. I will be making at least 1 trip over to Dayton this spring/summer.

The Gate is right up the road in Brunswick. We are running a road race on the 21st and VTA looks to be one of our fastest growing classes.

Information about the track and current schedule can be found here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/norcar-c...style-gate-72/

If there is any information you can't find feel free to shoot me a PM.

Hope to see you at the track.

Later,
Chuck

I checked the Gate's site but it only listed a schedule up to March. I thought maybe it closed.

I'd like to travel to other tracks so keep telling me what else is near to Cleveland - so far, I'm also going to Dayton!

No, the Gate is alive and well. RCTech or Hobbytalk are the best places to get up to the date scheduling. Beaver Raceway in Beaver Falls PA runs a VTA program as does MSI in MI, The Big Rug in Indy, and Hobbystop West in Toledo, OH.
