Chip a tooth on the spur gear. It should last long enough to howl through the main.
My home track is kicking around starting a class of TA. Been doing my homework on here, looks pretty cool. I run rubber/tc normally. My car is pretty dialed, so hopefully it's pretty close for Trans Am. Great input guys.

We've instituted a new rule for the Vintage TA class:
5.1.4 Motor Noises.
Whoever is in the lead must make appropriate motor noises and squealing tire sounds for the entire period during which they are in the lead. Such noises MUST be capable of being heard at a distance of not less than 100 feet. Should the noise-making leader be overtaken in the course of the race the new leader must then make similar noises while the former leader continues to make noise. This continues, anyone who HAS led or IS leading must be making motor sounds for the remainder of the heat.
Keeps it light, constant reminder that it's ALL fun. We were laughing our a$$es off.

All these TA painted cars are nice. I'm going to paint a rust bucket up with mismatched doors.

Possible HPI electric Trans-am
If the class becomes a nationwide class, do you see HPI coming out with some sort of RTR trans am car based on the Cyclone S, E10, or Sprint 2 chassis? I think that would be pretty cool to see personally. I am really wanting to start this class at my local track. It looks like so much fun!
Wouldn't be surprised if an electric version of some kind also comes out.
Good luck with this class. Looks like heaps of fun.

For all of you Midwestern Trans Am racers, and those of you in this area who have been on the fence about this class, we have a confirmed a date for a single Trans Am ONLY shootout race at The Track at Harbor Hobbies in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Mark your calendars and save April 12th for getting a hall pass to race. Trans Am faithful won't want to miss this one.
We do know that it will be a Reedy Invitational-style race setup, and we're working out the other details of the day. It's going to be an awesome event, and we're all really excited to put this together.
More details to be posted as we have them hammered out. Stay tuned!

Hi All,
Doug directed me to this forum. Great idea with the series, he told me that there was race being held in Illnois, but I had no idea!!!!! I am a bit of a 1:1 Trans Am nut myself, both of yesteryear and in the 80s/90s, can't get enough of the stuff and have quite a large personal collection of memoribilia.
Anyways, the 1:10 Gurney Cuda of Doug's you see on the very first post of this thread uses the decal set that I have created and available for purchase. If anyone is interested in a set, please shoot me a PM and I will respond via email from there. I have the Gurney and Savage Cuda's available right now.
Also FYI, soon to be available, hopefully in the next 2 to 3 weeks:
1. 1969 Bud Moore Boss 302 red/white/black decal set
2. 1969 Shelby American Boss 302 blue/white decal set
3. 1970 Jim Hall Camaro white/blue decal set
4. 1970 Sam Posey Challenger green/black decal set
Any questions, please let me know. Thanks a bunch!
Jay
