How about just getting Lipo legalization done in the next month or so (please note I said, OR SO.... ) and allow people to make their own choices of power supply and let what happens, happens to NiMH technology?

We need a new emoticon with clapping hands. This is the best thing ever said on a forum.

I looked into doing my own cells and after you price everything out it is a big waste of time and money vs how much you can actually make. Keep in mind that the going rate for a top quality pack is 60-70$.

You then have to have a good outlet for all the subpar packs...ie stick pack quality and even pricing them bargain basement on ebay is a waste of time.

Then factor in how many packs you have to give away at or below cost to your "team drivers".

I am not talking 100 cells at a time...I priced it out based on 500 or more cells at a clip.

You make more money on a paper route after it is all said and done..lol.

Why do you think so many companies have smc and promatch do their cells and slap their own labels on them. It is volume in the 1000's of units to actually make it worth it.

Kind of the same problem with running a hobby shop...alot less profit in it than you think once you factor all your overhead etc.

Jamie

Actually about 95% of the people in the RC business do it to support their racing or enjoyment....PERIOD. I know I started mine just to HELP cover some of my racing cost.

Here is an update on SMC EnerG4600 matched cells. Even though some other companies employees have come on this thread and said the EnerG cell was a relabled 4200 or the same as a stick pack cell the fact is that our high end packs will have 446+ with 1.235+ and 1.3-1.5. We have plenty of confidence that the EnerG cell is very competitive and our racers will use these at the Novak race and Snowbirds.

The EnerG cells seem to have the lowest IR on the market which should make them great for all classes.

Packs are shipping out at the end of this week.

Danny is 100% on point.

Just started sorting large lot of cells and numbers look great can't wait to try them out.

For you Northeast racers contact Chris at Rcmadness (cmarcy@rcmadness)for packs. Should be ready by weekend.

Cheers

Jamie

suggestion, weight limit should be modified also so u can give a fair comparison between the 2 tecnologies,as they should demonstrste their advantegous and disadvantgeous in all areas, voltage, capacity, ease of use, weight, price safety etc.
