Default Alfa Giulia GTA scale tyres

Hi
You guys all know these things but can anybody suggest to this dummy a suitable tyre for the following:
I am building a 1/10 Alfa GTA but I want the wheels to be closer to scale than the wall to wall rubber supplied. In 1965 the GTAs ran 155 x 15 tyres. I can thin the rims suitably but then need tyres with an on-road tread, not too chunky, to fit the standard Tamiya rims (narrowed) and therefore approximately 16mm wide. Any thoughts? I am about 100 miles from a main Tamiya agent and don't know anyone else into 1/10 (or any scale really).

You won't find any tyres off the shelf at 16mm wide.

The closest would probably be some Pit Shimizu wet tyres that have a tread (that looks quite modern) and are 20mm wide. These are for a standard diameter touring wheel, are you using standard wheels or Tamiya mini-sized wheels?

Or you could try a cut-and-shut on the Tamiya tyre.
