Driveshaft or belt?
Hey guys,
I'm new here...I'm just wondering what is better and why. Common sense would tell you that a belt would be better because less moving parts=less friction=more power I still would like input on this though, would it be worth the conversion? Thanks |
Thanks guys

IMO shafts are the way to go, I have had problems with all my BD cars. I have a tc4 now and am pleased as punch with it.

For racing, virtually every car is now belt drive, the main reason being no torque steer. The belts also cushion some of the shocks through the drivetrain to give a smoother feel, shaft cars can feel a bit snappy. For bashing, sometimes a shaft drive can be a little easier, mainly because they tend to be better sealed from the environment. That is the only benefit though. |
Here is what a search for "belt shaft" in thread titles brought back
