Drew Manzella, i do not know about you, but here where I live is 2007 and Lipo (and other Lithium based cells) have became the standard for a lot of things, Mobile phones, laptop computers, electric power tools, model rc planes, model rc helis...and OK because of stupid protection rules not yet in rc cars, or better, they are allready the standard in rc cars but not in official IFMAR races of rc cars.

In brushless is the same. Look in Europe where brushless motor are allowed in oficial competitions. Do you know what people is driving? Thats right Brushless.

In generic terms you have the picture: Where people can choose, they are using lipo and brushless. Where you do not see people using them look for the rules and you will know that the rules are not allowing them.

It is simple...quite simple.

And please do not make promises of things you do not know.

From past experence the checkpoint is a nice small charger, does lipo and discharges to 30 amp.
Owning a lot of RC vehicles doesn't always mean a lot of knowledge.

I'n my opinion, you don't need any of those chargers you mentioned..... you only have Nimh and Nicd anyway. Stick to your trusty mellinium pro.

In my opinion the Turbo 35 GFX. The upgrade path the charger is able to take is fantastic. PDM, I don't believe you know as much about the direction of the hobbies technolgy as you seem to think. At this point there are several technologies out there and the CE charger is capable of handling them all. The technology has changed and the charger has not become obsolete as many have but followed the direction that the hobby traveled. I believe as technology contues to progress this charger will still be able to be upgraded which makes it a pretty good value.

I own a GFX 35. I don't feel like it's the best of the best if I was shopping for a charger today.

To me, it's way too big for a single output charger. My money would to towards a Checkpoint if I was looking today...but it all depends on how your using it.

This thread I posted a while back might give some info:

ppl think oh its just a charger
but some charge cells better than others
my orion charges c cells like crap, but do lipos great
the gfx charges c cells great and i do notice a difference
i had muchmore chargers and they worked good too
if you think i dont know what im talking about i dont care
and as for novak chargers HMMMMMM had one one day and sold it
the ko back in the day did a good job but hurt cells but the car went fast
the gfx is still the best though its big and a bit more money.

Thank you for the replies, most likely I am getting a gfx, but there still a slight chance that I'll get the team much more silent platinum and power supply combo if I consider the price between the two.
