Running-in ball cups?

Running-in ball cups?
I got some RPM ball cups today and they are rather tight on my original ball ends. Granted I should go and get new ball ends but I can't be stuffed. Is there any way to get them to be freeer?
Thanks.
Thanks.

i think rpm ends work best with associated ballstuds. I had the same problem trying to use losi ballstuds and tried to work them around a little to get them to free up and wound messing them up. Basicly it didnt work, you are probably better off with a little slop than a binding turnbuckle until you can get the right ballstuds.

I'd much rather have them a little tight than sloppy. I went exclusively to RPM ball cups on all my HPI cars to tighten up the steering. Use a little powdered graphite as a lubricant. Works great, won't attract dust like a liquid lubricant will. Be careful not to scratch the balls as this will definately affect how smooth they operate.

You can try to gently squeeze the cup where it snaps on to the ball with a pair of needle nose pliers. This will help free them up some, but don't do it too hard or you will develop too much slop.

Pop the ball cup on a ball stud and use a rotary tool to spin the stud in the ball cup for a few seconds. It runs-in ball cups very well.

yup, use the dremel. if your balls are aluminum, they will be polished in the process too.
