Does anyone know what electric motor cleaner is? Is it a watered down degreaser? Anyone found a cheaper alternative?

Yeah I have a alternative: GO BRUSHLESS and never worry about what motorcleaner you should get!

Are you honestly telling me that £4 for a big can of motor cleaner that will last 6 months with total peace of mind that it is the right tool for the job is too much money to spend?

Brake parts cleaner from the auto store. I've used some brands of brake cleaner in motors, just be careful with which ones you use.

Personally I use it for shocks and cleaning parts, and I use the good motor cleaner for motors.

You can go to the regular auto parts store and not get brake cleaner, get electrical parts cleaner... Same size can, same cheap price... Probably a 3rd of what the hobby stores charge for the overpriced stuff...

For cleaning parts, instead of brake cleaner which has chemicals that are very bad for you, use 70% isopropyl rubbing alchohol. $1 for a bottle at any grocery or drug store that will last a year. It isn't toxic, and doesn't dry out your hands. Just don't drink it.

It's not so good for cleaning motors, but for parts and bodies, it works great.

R/C racers are so quick to buy "specialized r/c products" that cost 5x times.

be careful if you do try brakecleaner, I tried some 4-5 years ago and my fingers had a bad reaction to it. Only motor spray for me now.

I don't know why but i go through the stuff like once every 2 weeks and when big events come up i go through it in a day, i race 540 so i cant use a brushless, what type of motor cleaner do you use, how big is the can??

Seriously, that stuff is horrible, 100% without a doubt. I have given motor spray to people just so they don't use brake cleaner. Yet, Paragon gets banned...jeez..

Because maybe Paragon is used alot more than brake cleaner perhaps??
