Default Should ROAR ban NiMh in 2008?

A lot of cases of NiMh explosions have been reported.

Should ROAR ban NiMh in 2008?

They have done that to lipo for a lot less in 2007.

We are gonna declare a war on NIMH and then do nothing.

In may 10+ years in rc I have never exploded a battery and have only seen one explode. But I have seen some lipos get damaged more than nimhs.

If you over charge most batteries they are going to explode. So your saying user error casused the battery to explode. Who woulda thunk it.

all battery technology is dangerous if misused. i have seen: ni-mh's explode, lead acid's melt the lead contacts in a shower of buring sparks, alkalines turn into a crystalline mess, and a few other slightly more boring instances. i just think the time is right to switch to li-po. it's a technology in its infancy, whereas ni-mh is almost at full capacity. (i expect there will never be a sub c with more than abour 5200mah capacity) whereas lipo has lots of room to grow. if you are scared, just run a solar powered car.
