Novak brushless system
I just ordered the Novak. It's be here tomorrow and hopefully installed by tomorrow night. Is there anything I should be concerned with on this unit?

Some people find it annoying when other people start redundant treads asking the same questions that have been answered in another thread.
If you took the time to cruise the the tread list and read through the threads, you would find you answer. You can also do a search to see if your particular question has been discussed already.
Also, you could have easily posted your question in the following thread:

Thanks for the head's up. I had already seen that post, but it has not been touched in a while so I thought better to start anew with recent thoughts and musings on the subject.

RoadRat: when your car's wheels are not touching the ground do NOT run the motor and then apply brakes, aparently the esc does not like that at all, a warning i've been given from another novak owner, other than that try to keep your final ratio to around 7.5, i'm completly satisfied with my novak setup, great speed, acceleration, longer run time and NO maintenance

This might be a really stupid question, but I am new to modern electrics......how do apply the brakes on the Novak? Just release the throttle like with the stock RTR set up? What about if you are in one of the six profiles that does not have reverse, do you still just release the throttle, or do you now pull back on the throttle since there is no reverse?

just releasing throttle will bring you to neutral, pulling back will apply brakes for both setups (foreward only and reverse mode)
when in reverse mode a second pull back will get your car to go backward.
when in reverse mode a second pull back will get your car to go backward.

Cool, thanks! That is good to hear, since it is different from the stock set up. I can't wait to install it tomorrow.

another tip, if you want to shorten your wires don't unsolder and try to resolder at the motor, instead cut the wires in the middle, shorten them and resolder your wires

Da4head: i couldn't tell you, i shortened them b4 trying it
RoadRat: the novak comes with about a foot long of wire soldered to it LOL , seriously i removed about 2 inches of unneeded wire

sorry if i changed the subject but i dont really know much about the novak brushless motor and i was wondering y people like it so much. Isn't it kind of expensive?

it's cuz it requires no maintence....but i don't do maintence on my motors anyways...and how many T's do the Novak have?

I cut mine and solder to the motor but did not have any problem.
