Novak Sentry
I was perusing Novak's site, and noticed some information about a new system they're releasing called the "Sentry" to help gather all sorts of different metrics about your R/C car.

There's a number of neat sensors there, including one that hooks into the harness of a brushless motor to measure RPM's. That seems like it could be particularly useful as sort of a brushless dyno of sorts.
There's a lot of other cool stuff there, too. And, no sign of an orange case! :-)

this is a neat item, no wonder novakhas no time to release a new charger
