Default xray evo 2 battrey mod ?

ok so i have modded my evo 2 so it can acept 6 cell inline 6 cells insted of saddle packs. has anybody done this. was there a big advantage for them being saddle packs?

Yes there was. Saddle packs and side-by-side packs sit lower in the chassis, lowering the COG. The batteries are also better secured in the chassis.

I would most likely ask that question before modifying the car.. just me.
But I agree with Thistle. You've raised the center of gravity and strapping that arrangement is going to be a PITA. You've also changed the weight distribution of the pack in relationship to the car.

The EVO2 came with 12 battery slots that allowed for many diffferent combinations. If you made the packs side by side like this



you can run them down one side of the chassis, and you won't "raise the CG"



But since the motor in this car rides in the center and wont help to balance out the weight of the batteries (side to siode) you'll need to add weight on the electonics side to balance the car properly.

ok that what i though. there is pretty much balanced now as it is. our club has a waight limet so adding waight isnt a problem. thanks for the help.
