RDX Diff locknut removal.
I broke a diff screw last night during/after a race and part of it is still in the diff locknut. How do I go about removing the locknut from the outdrive? That part of the diff came preassembled on my RDX.

I'm not sure if you can get it out. I had that happen on my RDX last year and I don't think I was able to get mine out, if I remember correctly.

Was afraid you were gonna say that. Kinda odd since there's a diff build kit out there where you put the entire thing together (in theory) and it looks like there's some kinda washer in there holding the nut in place. Grrr..looks like maybe it's time for a front one way and move the other diff to the rear.

Lol, that's what I did! Never had a problem again. |
I went in today, told one of my racing buddies/LHS employee to do some destructive testing to see what holds it in place. Got the front one way and some titanium turnbuckles on order too. Pretty soon the RDX will be a true USS Pimp-ride.

Getting the plastic nut out of the diff half is easy. Screw in diff screw from opposite side and pull. DO NOT screw in from aluminum side. Hope this helps, I have replaced a couple before.
