anyone know if HPI sells a diff rebuild kit?

I don't think there is a one-shot rebuild kit that has everything other than a new diff kit. They have a parts bag with the diff rings, and balls .. then another bag with the thrust assembly (or use the AE one.)

You can buy the bearing that goes in between the out drives as well. Since individual components tend to fail its cheaper to by it part by part.

If your just looking for that small washer that goes under the thrust spring, your SOL because for some reason it has been unavailable since day one from HPI. It is thinner than the AE one, and I tried using a AE one instead and had very odd issues with keeping the diff together. You also can't just use a thrust washer there either because it's too thick. I have a diff built with just a washer I found that fit well enough, and the diff works but for some reason it makes it chatter.

I've searched HPI's site, and tried getting ahold of them and all I've gotten was "it's on backorder" as a response.

Nicadraus: I suggest you use 64pitch, our track is as smooth as ever no pebbles or rocks that can ruin your spur. On the other hand, 64 pitch plays a vital role on you FDR, by selecting ratio in small inrements compared to 48P.

Hi, only reason I'm looking at swapping to 48pitch is because of outdoor racing.Recently, I ran our state titles and in practise, almost destroyed the 64pitch spur gear.no one else ran 64p and none of the hobby shops had any in stock. I ended up removing the damaged spur and turning it around,ran the 2 day event with it and finished 2nd in the B Final.Although the competition wasn't really hot, I am very happy with the strength and durability of the Pro 4 !!!

Quick? With the HPI spool that comes with the Hara, I have noticed there is a chattering sound and alot of vibration in the front when the car is benched and you turn it to the left or right. Has any-one else noticed this? Anyway to make it better. Do you use greese on the outdrives of the spool?

that is normal when running with a spool.. this happens with other cars as well..not just the pro4.

the hpi spool COMES with grease. use it
in fact use it on all your drive pins (cvd's and center shaft)

in the hara editon there was a tube labeled heavyduty grease #z164 it looks like dark green in color i did not use it in the kit but i what to know if i can use it on the thrust bearings because i ran out of that black grease they supplied?

A buddy of mine and I where trying to find out what the hell HPI used for the trust grease, we narowed it down to anti-zease compound, you can buy a whole tube for a few dollars at any local auto parts store.
