Just 1 sheet..enough to do 1-1/2 chassis..

1 sheet will last about a year of racing and depending on how rough the track is...
once it's on..don't plan on taking it off...til after a few months. very difficult to peal off after it's been installed.

Here is my questions, am I suppose to set the gear meshing (talking about the diff gears) closer to each other or futher apart while they are still spinning freely? That means I have to shim 1 side of bearing more then the other side, I just don't really know I should set the DIFF gear closer to the bevel pinion gear or further apart from the bevel pinion gear.....

Now, the diff setting........I replaced the stock screw/nuts with the AE TC3 setup.......now, how many TURN OUT I have to turn from complete screw in position..? TC3 would tell you 1/2 turn front and 1/4 turn rear (something like that..) but what about PRO 4...? I know no one know the exact number, but I would like to get a ball park number...

Thanks everyone
shimming the diff gears is like spur gear mesh..you want it close and not binding. there will usually be more shims on one side than the other..some kits require different shimming than the other..so start out with the stock set-up...run 2-3 packs on it and recheck... and don't forget to grease the gears. makes for a smoother and quieter drivetrain.

on the diff screw...I adjust it per manual... just tight enough so you can not turn the bevel gear with your hand... I know when I had my TC3..you screw it all the way tight and back it out 1/2 turn. this makes for a tight diff. some racers like this way. some like it a little looser than the front and front diff tighter. etc.

nah i was told it might not work so i didn't bother. I also found an LHS that carries the 1.1 gears so i just use those. But anyone that has used the AE gears please confirm if it does work.

I do have TC3 gears...but haven't tried to fit it in...I haven't had any gear problems since switching to the 1.1 gears... so there no need for me to switch.

about the tc3 gears, seems like a good idea, i had a tc3 and never broke a bevel gear, unfortunatelly i've sold it now. do you think an american car gears will fit a japanese car? if they do, they will change the gear ratio. if anyone has tried them and they work and they don't brake, please let us know!

Default Reasons for sale

I have recentlt bought 3 Pro4's from the over the pond (oz to usa).

In all 3 cases the guys I have bought off have given similar reasons.

1. Local racing scene mired in politics
2. Ongoing cost of racing (replacing parts, batteries etc)
3. Just not fun anymore, whinging & bitching by "mature" racers.

All 3 guys were older, but competitive racers.

They have not replaced or upgraded.

wouldn't hurt to ask one of the sellers to sell some parts... I did..and was able to get some spare front arms..
