Asia gets the Spec 2005 Edition: 2mm chassis w/bevel gear input shafts.
US and Europe the Hara Edition. 2.5mm chassis w/1pc spur gear input shaft and MIP CVD's

everything else is almost the same.

I agree... HPI should have released 1 kit.

Why are ppl like to screwing ppls head....can they just make one called " Atsushi HARA 2005 spec edition PRO 4" and make everyone happy...? Are we asking too much here..?

2005 ed come with oneway and Hara ed. come with spool.

Default I guess my kit is 0.6 version....

what was improved over the 0.8 and 1.1 versions? I noticed my diff cases don't seal well. Was there an updated version?

Sorry about this question...cant be bothered to look through so many pages.

Is there a solution to the bevel gears stripping when using a spool? I use a diff at the moment in 19t and would like to buy a spool, only to hear so many bad things about how they strip gears.

Thanks

They have aluminum input shafts with the 16t bevel gear. About $17 bucks.
Also, Square or Jet make the 32t aluminum bevel gear for the front.
You should be good to go with that installed up front using a spool.
EDIT:
Its was Square

Last time I talked to Atsushi...he said HPI will release a HARA @ USA Cali Pro 4 edition, and HARA @ Japan Homie Pro 4 edition...........since he is back and forth between these 2 countries quite a lot (I am kidding here...)

going with an all aluminum bevel gear set-up... something else will break.
I'd rather break a $2+ bevel gear than a $9 CVD bone or axle.

I did the same thing then I also adjusted my end points to ensure it couldn't have a chance of hitting it.

I just put a 2mm purple washer on and that solved the eating the driveshaft issue! I think that's easier than taking a dremel to it.
