How can i prevent less tweak in the front gears? After some hits I end up having to replace it becuase it is stripped.

the gears are incased...so there should not be any tweaking.
do you have the newer V1.1 beveled gears? that should help elliminate any gear stripping... contact HPI...they will send you the new bevel gear and back plate set... for Free!....
not sure if the offer is still good.... just call HPI customer service and tell the you have a kit with the older gears.... they might even send you some decals as well...

That's why I want the alum gear. It is supposed to keep that from happening. A few of the HPI drivers at my local track are running them and they highly suggest getting it.

beveal gear is really a common problem for a lot people... in our club there are some who have this problem constantly, though i broke the gear only 1 time... it happened with 1.1 ver gear, changed to new one, no breakage for 3-4 months now...

changing to alluminium gear won't change anything, unless you will have both of them from alluminium. and check if your shimming is correct...

pro4 forever!

Yeah, do you have to have the other gear aluminum to operate the aluminum front gear.

You can hit all the boards on the track plus the pace car and still not break any bevel gears. But have one, even low speed, head on collision with a pipe, and that will do it. thats my experience with them. They usually (I'd say 99%) only break on head-on collisions, like when you turn in too early and do a face-plant into the pipe on the inside of the corner -gurranteed to break the gears every time. I've broken the 1.1 gears just as easily as the originals in this way.

just my $0.02
