hi,
busy building two PRO4's (one for me, one for my son, we race stock 19T on asphalt).
I've been looking for the topic about explanation of resolving chassis-tweak with the upperdeck-screws, but cannot find it.
anyone can give me a link ?
thx

Have someone hold the chassis flat on a set up board with there hand (pressing down) while the car has no wheels and secure the screws by. working your way from the middle of the brace ending with the csrews on the transmission cover. Also use a digital caliper to make sure your shocks are all the same height.

Some people drill out the holes in the upper deck which the long screws go into to screw the bulkhead down and then use button head screws to resolve tweak problems. Basically you then have 4 less screws holding the upperdeck.

Octavio,
These are the pictures I saw on this forum.
It cleared out a lot for me.
You need 4 other buttonhead screws, I think m3x20mm (But I'm not sure about the length) and 4 cone washers (I believe its part nr. 72063 ) to do the mod, the mod is on the front and the rear.
I put it on my website for a while. Sorry I don't know yet how to insert pictures.

Oops, for the washers it's 7263 in stead of 72063.
Can someone confirm if it is the right washer and buttonhead screw?

you can turn your car in any color you wish... take all your parts to your local anodizer and they can remove and re-color/ re-anodized to any color to your liking....

Has anyone experimented with a HPI spool instead of a oneway on rubber tires/carpet track?

Just wondering...I know many use the spool outdoors but was looking for feedback using it indoors on carpet.

nexus. I used the spool in practice at rsj but did not like the way it made the car sound. It felt like it was binding up and all I could hear was a loud tire srcubbing type noise from the front end.

Me Too!
The noise only came when the tires were in the turn position. Strait was fine.
However, when the wheel was turned it made a noise like it was cavitating.
I have alum front C hubs and blocks and thought it was that. I looked at everything and made shure everything was shimmed properly to make up for slop, but it didn't help.
I tried the same setup with my one way diff and it was fine.
Something to do with the solid axel.
I think the noise is coming from where the cvd axel meets the cvd bone. Since both are forced to turn at the same time with the solid axel, it causes a slight vibration.
I wounder if the solid axel had the outdrives at different angles if it would eliminate the noise. Like one at 90degrees from the other.
Anybody else getting noise?

The scrubbing noise comes from the inside tyre skidding on the ground. A spool makes both wheels spin at the same speed when cornering so the tyre with less load (inside tyre) will scrub a bit.

No, the noise I'm getting is worse when the car is up on my work stand with the wheels off the ground. The noise is coming from somewhere else.
Its not really a binding or scrubbing noise, its a really bad vibrating noise.

no, like I said, with the front one way everything is fine. No noise, no vibration.
When you install the solid axel is when you have the problem.

when spinning slow, can you see if the spool has any bend, where the cvd's go in?
