Anyone know why why in the above pics hara has drilled out 4 of the screws in the top deck that are normally countersunk?

Yes, that mod is supposed to stop the chassis holding a tweak.

Before each run they would wet the paper with water and thus keep the wires cool enough so they did not unsolder.

The heat was so high that normal operatin temp. for motors was close to the melting point of solder.

I have seen this on most of the Pro4 cars running on asphault....In theory or your opinions do you guys think that mod. would be beneficial for Pro4s running indoors on carpet.

using the center brace. Does he do this for more flex?

yes...and with the 2mm chassis. more flex more traction on asphalt..

I think its funny how guys buy aftermarket chassis to stiffen up their cars. Only guys that are new to racing do this. Those of us that have been doing it a while know that we need a little flex to make the cars fast on asphalt or rubber tires on carpet. Thats why Hara runs 2mm chassis and no braces on asphalt. Rheinard had a special 2.5mm (stock is 3mm) on his 415 at the Worlds and he didn't run the side stiffen posts. Seems like 2 WC's would know what they are doing...lol!

Very few people buy the stiffer chassis for asphalt. If they do, then they didn't come on this forum before the purchase.
