Default derlin outdrives sucks?

I put brand new derlin outdrives and v1.1 gear set on front and rear for today's race. Look what happen to my derlin outdrive melted with diff ring. $50 bucks wasted for just half of first race.

What can cause this? My gears are still good. no wear.

did you put the spacer that goes around the bearing?
seems like you used a larger bearing.

looks as if the diff rings were not seated correctly and started to spin inside the ball diff.

That’s what happens when you don’t tighten the diff correctly. If the diff is slipping this causes heat which melts the hubs. Another guy that works for HPI was running his diff loose. I told him to tighten them; he didn’t and guess what happened.

Where did you buy a $50 set of $20 delrin out drives?

i had the same problem, diffs would back off within a few laps..

carefully gluing the nut into the little plastic 'T shaped' housing has totally fixed the problem for me.

-SPRING.

Unhappy

What`s up Thad.

I`m a little worried about with my Pro4.

I had training session last night with newest 1.1 gear set up front and after 3th run there was that same sound when i drove earlier those old gears.

So, after that thing i opened front and chech what made that sound.

Guess what, there was a terrible mess of gears.

Any suggestion??

Thanks

There was a good picture with those AE parts earlier.

That rear diff problem was my pain in the ass too.

So, i made that AE diff mod with original outdrives and now it works fine

Now i still have to solve that front gear set problem

all you need to do is compress the spring a couple of times with pliers ,you won't have a problem .
