This is my Novak Diode mod: mounted on a R2 Cuda
but can be applied to the Pro4.

Azenis, till I take the picture, you might look at the first post on the previous page and if you look closely, you can see how I mounted the diode.

rc-zombies: an interesting mod! What is holding the cap to the top of the esc? I see the cable ties but what do they go around?

downforce: that is what I have been doing but would rather a neater solution...

Stuck to the top deck?? I dont think I have enough length on my wires to do that.. Looks like i may need to rewire

Hey looking at the pic of your car, you seem to have a black spring on the RHF and a gold one on the LHF? Or is it just the way the photo came out?

the cable ties are holding the cap...right under the diode. after you solder the diode in place.. just tie down the cap right below it.
very clean no excess wires to worry about.

Thanks for that
So you have rewired it from the standard setup? It is totally different to mine, the shottky is inline before the motor on mine...
How do you stick the cap to the top of the esc? CAn you still se the LEDS on the esc with it there?

Thanks for the pic it gives me something to work on
oh where do you get the purple body post that is behind the shock towers?

OK so you cable tie the cap to the bottom of the diode - i thought the diode was some how cable tied to the gt7 itself ?

makes sense now

I didn't like the inline wiring..it's looks like a pile of spegetti.

I took mine apart and wired it the old fashion way. and soldered the diode right on the +/- motor wires.. The cap is right under the diode and on top of the esc and the LEDS are still visable.

Purple body post is from Hot Bodies..was made for the Pro3 but fits the Pro4 without any mods... 55mm fits the best...

No problem.

Only thing I have changed was switch the stock Novak wires to Deans 12awg wire. I had to cut some wire off where I soldered the wire onto the tabs because the solder tabs only accept up to 14awg. Mine is the first generation purchased from RCZombies.

I just mounted the cap (stock cap broke off at the metal contacts near the base so bought a newer smaller one) with some double sided tape. Mounted it over the GT7 letters so I could still see the LED's clearly.

I bought a set of aluminum body posts before, but they were a tad too short (55mm size vs. 60mm), so I just used one of the body posts for the "5th" body post.

Ramon, we seriously gotta stop posting at the same times

The body post was from Eagle Racing (aka Integy). Only drawback is, for the front body posts, the base is round, instead of having sides, so you have to tighten them almost frequently to check if they're loose.
